Mga Laygay sa Kabuhi
1Subong nga ang maayo nga reputasyon mas maayo sang sa malahalon nga pahamot, ang adlaw sang pagkapatay mas maayo sang sa adlaw sang pagkatawo.
2Mas maayo pa nga magkadto sa balay nga may nagapangasubo sa patay sang sa magkadto sa balay nga may punsyon, kay ang dangatan sang tanan amo ang kamatayon. Dapat dumdumon ini permi sang mga buhi.
3Ang kasubo mas maayo pa sang sa kalipay tungod kay ang kasubo makapatadlong sa kabuhi sang tawo.
4Ang maalamon nga tawo nagahunahuna permi parte sa kamatayon, pero ang buang-buang nga tawo nagahunahuna permi parte sa kalipayan.
5Mas maayo pa nga magpamati ka sa pagsaway sa imo sang maalamon nga tawo sang sa magpamati ka sa pagdayaw sa imo sang buang-buang nga tawo.
6Ang kadlaw sang buang-buang nga tawo pareho sa mga tunok nga nagabitibiti sa kalayo. Wala ini sing pulos.
7Sigurado nga mangin pareho sa buang-buang ang maalamon nga tawo kon magpanguwarta7:7 magpanguwarta: ukon, magpangdaya. siya. Kon magbaton ka sang lagay ginaguba mo lang ang imo kaugalingon.
8Mas maayo pa ang katapusan sang isa ka butang sang sa umpisa sini. Ang pagpasensya mas maayo pa sang sa pagpabugal.
9Indi ka magdali-dali pangakig, kay ang kaakig amo ang kinaandan nga ginahimo sang buang-buang nga tawo.
10Indi ka magpamangkot, “Ngaa mas maayo sang una sang sa subong?” Kay indi ina husto nga pamangkot.
11Ang kaalam maayo nga butang pareho sa palanublion. Makabulig gid ini sa mga nagakabuhi diri sa kalibutan, 12kag makaprotektar ini pareho sa kuwarta. Gani makabulig gid ang kaalam; makatipig ini sa kabuhi sang tawo nga may ara sini.
13Hunahunaa bala kon ano ang ginhimo sang Dios. Sin-o bala ang makatadlong sa ginpatiko sang Dios?
14Kon maayo ang imo kahimtangan, magkalipay ka. Pero kon ara ka sa kalisod, dumduma nga ang Dios indi lamang nagahatag sang maayo nga kahimtangan kundi sang kalisod man. Gani indi ta mahibaluan kon ano ang matabo sa palaabuton.
15Sa sining akon kabuhi nga wala sing pulos, nakita ko ini tanan: ang mga matarong nga nagakalamatay sa pihak sang ila matarong nga kabuhi kag ang mga malaot nga nagakabuhi sing malawig sa pihak sang ila malaot nga kabuhi.
16Indi ka magsobra kaayo ukon kaalam. Kon himuon mo ina, ginaguba mo lang ang imo kaugalingon. 17Indi ka man magsobra kalaot, kag indi ka magbinuang-buang. Kon himuon mo ina, mapatay ka sa wala pa ang imo tion. 18Indi ka magpasobra sa sadto nga mga butang; dapat sa tunga-tunga ka lang, kay ang nagatahod sa Dios wala nagapasobra.
19Dako ang mahimo sang kaalam sa isa ka tawo sang sa mahimo sang napulo ka pangulo sa isa ka siyudad.
20Wala gid sing tawo diri sa kalibutan nga nagahimo permi sang matarong kag wala nagakasala.
21Indi pagpamatii ang tanan nga ginasiling sang tawo, kay basi kon mabatian mo nga ginapakamalaot ka sang imo suluguon. 22Kay nahibaluan mo mismo nga kadamo nga beses nga ginpakamalaot mo man ang iban.
23Gintestingan ko nga intiendihon ang tanan nga nagakalatabo diri sa kalibutan paagi sa akon kaalam. Naghunahuna ako nga maintiendihan ko, pero ato gali indi. 24Indi ko matungkad ang mga nagakalatabo; mabudlay gid ini intiendihon. Wala gid sing may makaintiendi sini. 25Pero padayon ako nga nagtuon kag nag-usisa, agod makaangkon ako sang kaalam kag sabat sa akon mga pamangkot, kag agod mahibaluan ko kon daw ano gid ka buang-buang ang tawo nga nagahimo sang malain kag daw ano kalain sing ulo ang tawo nga nagabinuang.
26Nasapwan ko nga ang babayi nga nagapangsulay mapait pa sang sa kamatayon. Ang iya gugma pareho sa siod, kag ang iya mga kamot nga nagahakos sa imo pareho sa kadena. Makapalagyo sa iya ang tawo nga maayo sa panulok sang Dios, pero ang makasasala iya masiod niya. 27-28Ako nga manugwali nagsiling, “Ginahunahuna ko gid sing maayo ang tagsa ka butang sa akon nga pagpangita sang sabat sa akon mga pamangkot. Sa gihapon wala ko makita ang mga sabat. Pero amo ini ang akon nasapwan: sa 1,000 ka lalaki isa lang ang matarong,7:27-28 matarong: ukon, maalam. pero sa 1,000 ka babayi wala gid sing matarong. 29Labaw sa tanan, nasapwan ko nga ginhimo sang Dios ang tawo nga matarong pero madamo sang ginapadihot ang tawo nga indi matarong.”

2¶ It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. 3Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.7.3 Sorrow: or, Anger 4The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. 5It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. 6For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.7.6 crackling: Heb. sound
7¶ Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. 8Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. 9Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. 10Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.7.10 wisely: Heb. out of wisdom

23¶ All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. 24That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? 25I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:7.25 I applied…: Heb.
