Ang Pagkabanhaw ni Jesus
1Aga pa gid sang adlaw nga Domingo, nagkadto si Maria nga taga-Magdala didto sa lulubngan. Pag-abot niya didto, nakita niya nga ang takop nga bato wala na didto sa puwertahan sang lulubngan. 2Gani nagdalagan siya pakadto kay Simon Pedro kag sa sumulunod nga palangga ni Jesus. Pag-abot niya sa ila, nagsiling siya, “Ginkuha nila ang Ginoo sa lulubngan, kag wala kami kahibalo kon diin nila siya ginbutang!” 3Gani nagkadto si Pedro kag ato nga sumulunod didto sa lulubngan. 4Nagdalagan sila nga duha, pero mas madasig ang isa sang sa kay Pedro. Gani una siya nga nakaabot sa lulubngan. 5Pag-abot niya didto nagduko siya kag naglingling kag nakita niya ang mga tela nga linen nga ginputos kay Jesus, pero wala siya nagsulod. 6Dugay-dugay nag-abot man si Simon Pedro, pero nagderetso siya sulod sa lulubngan. Nakita niya ang mga tela 7kag ang panyo nga ginputos sa ulo ni Jesus. Nakabaruron20:7 Nakabaruron: ukon, Napiud. ang panyo sa isa ka lugar nga separar sa mga tela. 8-9Nagsulod man dayon ang sumulunod nga una nag-abot, kag nakita man niya ang mga butang sa sulod. Bisan wala pa sila makaintiendi sang ginasiling sang Kasulatan nga kinahanglan mabanhaw si Jesus, nagpati siya sa sadto nga oras nga nabanhaw si Jesus. 10Kag nagpauli dayon ang duha ka sumulunod.
Nagpakita si Jesus kay Maria nga taga-Magdala
(Mat. 28:9-10; Mar. 16:9-11)
11Karon, si Maria nagatindog pa didto sa guwa sang lulubngan nga nagahibi. Samtang nagahibi siya, nagduko siya kag naglingling sa sulod sang lulubngan. 12Nakita niya nga may duha ka anghel didto sa sulod nga nagabayo sing puti. Didto sila nagapungko sa ginbutangan sang bangkay ni Jesus. Ang isa sa may ulohan dampi kag ang isa sa may tiilan dampi. 13Ginpamangkot sang mga anghel si Maria, “Ngaa nagahibi ka?” Nagsabat si Maria, “Tungod kay may nagkuha sang bangkay sang akon Ginoo kag wala ako kahibalo kon diin nila ginbutang!” 14Pagkahambal niya sadto nagbalikid siya dayon kag nakita niya si Jesus nga nagatindog, pero wala niya nakilala nga si Jesus gali ato. 15Nagpamangkot si Jesus sa iya, “Ngaa nagahibi ka? Sin-o bala ang imo ginapangita?” Ang hunahuna ni Maria nga si Jesus amo ang manug-atipan sang mga tanom didto. Gani nagsiling siya sa iya, “Kon ikaw ang nagkuha sa iya, abi sugiri ako kon diin mo siya ginbutang, kay kuhaon ko siya.” 16Nagsiling si Jesus sa iya, “Maria!” Nag-atubang si Maria kay Jesus, kag naghambal sa Hebreo nga lingguahe, “Raboni!” (Kon sa aton pa, “Manunudlo.”) 17Nagsiling si Jesus sa iya, “Indi ka mag-uyat sa akon, kay wala pa ako makakayab sa Amay. Ang imo himuon, kadtuan mo ang akon mga utod kag sugiran mo sila nga makayab na ako sa akon Amay kag inyo man Amay, sa akon Dios kag inyo man Dios.” 18Gani ginkadtuan ni Maria nga taga-Magdala ang mga sumulunod ni Jesus kag ginsugiran niya dayon sila nga nakita niya ang Ginoo. Kag ginsugid man niya sa ila ang ginbilin ni Jesus.
Nagpakita si Jesus sa Iya mga Sumulunod
19Sang sirom na sadto nga adlaw nga Domingo, nagtilipon sa isa ka balay ang mga sumulunod. Kag tungod sa kahadlok sa mga lider sang mga Judio ginpangtrangkahan nila ang mga puwertahan sang balay nga ila ginatipunan. Nag-abot dayon si Jesus kag nagtindog didto sa tunga nila kag nagsiling, “Kabay pa nga ang kalinong ara sa inyo.” 20Pagkatapos niya hambal sini, ginpakita niya sa ila ang mga pilas sa iya mga kamot kag sa iya kilid. Kag nalipay gid ang mga sumulunod sang makita nila ang Ginoo. 21Kag nagsiling liwat si Jesus sa ila, “Kabay pa nga ang kalinong ara sa inyo. Kon paano nga ang Amay nagpadala sa akon, ako magapadala man sa inyo.” 22Kag ginhuypan niya dayon sila kag nagsiling, “Batuna ninyo ang Espiritu Santo. 23Kon patawaron ninyo ang mga sala ni bisan sin-o, ina ginpatawad na sang Dios. Pero kon indi ninyo pagpatawaron, ina wala ginpatawad sang Dios.”
Nagduda si Tomas
24Si Tomas nga ginatawag nga si Kapid, nga isa man sa dose ka apostoles, wala didto sang pag-abot ni Jesus. 25Gani ginsugiran siya sang iya kaupod nga mga sumulunod nga nakita nila ang Ginoo. Pero nagsiling si Tomas sa ila, “Kon indi ko makita ang agi sang mga lansang sa iya mga kamot, kag kon indi ko matandog ang iya mga pilas, pati na ang pilas sa iya kilid, indi gid ako magpati.”
26Pagkaligad sang isa ka semana, nagtilipon liwat ang mga sumulunod ni Jesus sa balay nga ila ginatipunan, kag kaupod na nila si Tomas. Gintrangkahan nila ang mga puwertahan sang balay, pero nagsulod liwat si Jesus kag nagtindog didto sa ila tunga. Nagsiling siya sa ila, “Kabay pa nga ang kalinong ara sa inyo.” 27Dayon nagsiling siya kay Tomas, “Tomas, dali, tan-awa ang akon mga kamot. Tanduga ang mga pilas, pati na ang pilas sa akon kilid. Indi ka na magpangduhaduha, kundi magtuo ka na.” 28Nagsiling si Tomas kay Jesus, “Ginoo ko kag Dios ko!” 29Nagsiling dayon si Jesus sa iya, “Ti nagatuo ka na subong kay nakita mo na ako? Pero bulahan ang mga tawo nga nagatuo sa akon bisan wala nila ako makita.”
Ang Katuyuan sang sini nga Libro
30Madamo pa gid nga mga milagro ang ginpanghimo ni Jesus nga nakita mismo sang iya mga sumulunod nga wala masulat sa sini nga libro. 31Pero ang mga nasulat diri ginsulat agod magtuo kamo nga si Jesus amo ang Cristo, ang Anak sang Dios. Kag kon magtuo kamo sa iya20:31 sa iya: sa literal, sa iya ngalan. may kabuhi kamo nga wala sing katapusan.
The empty tomb
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!’
3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as the cloth that had been wrapped round Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) 10Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
11Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13They asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying?’
‘They have taken my Lord away,’ she said, ‘and I don’t know where they have put him.’ 14At this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus.
15He asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?’
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.’
16Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’
She turned towards him and cried out in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means ‘Teacher’).
17Jesus said, ‘Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, “I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” ’
18Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: ‘I have seen the Lord!’ And she told them that he had said these things to her.
Jesus appears to his disciples
19On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ 20After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ 22And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’
Jesus appears to Thomas
24Now Thomas (also known as Didymus20:24 Thomas (Aramaic) and Didymus (Greek) both mean twin.), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, ‘We have seen the Lord!’
But he said to them, ‘Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.’
26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ 27Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’
28Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’
29Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’
The purpose of John’s gospel
30Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31But these are written that you may believe20:31 Or may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
