Naghambal si Elifaz
1Dayon nagsabat si Elifaz nga taga-Teman, 2“May mabulig bala ang tawo sa Dios, ukon bisan ang maalam nga tawo? 3Mapalipay mo bala ang Makagagahom nga Dios kon matarong ka? May makuha bala siya sa imo kon wala sing kasawayan ang imo kabuhi? 4Ginasabdong ka sang Dios kag ginasentensyahan indi tungod kay nagatahod ka sa iya, 5kundi tungod kay puwerte na gid ang imo kalautan kag wala na sang untat ang imo pagpakasala. 6Kay ginakuha mo nga wala sing kaluoy ang bayo sang imo isigkatawo bilang garantiya sa iya utang sa imo. 7Wala mo ginahatagan sang tubig ang mga ginauhaw, kag wala mo man ginahatagan sang pagkaon ang mga ginagutom. 8Ginagamit mo ang imo pagkagamhanan kag pagkadungganon sa pag-angkon sang duta. 9Kon magpangayo sa imo sang bulig ang mga balo nga babayi, ginapapauli mo sila nga wala sing dala. Pati ang mga ilo wala mo ginatratar sing maayo. 10Amo ina kon ngaa ginalibutan ka sang mga siod, kag nagaabot sa imo ang gulpi nga kahadlok. 11Amo ina kon ngaa nadulman ka kag indi makakita, kag ginalapawan sang baha.
12“Ang Dios ara sa pinakaibabaw sang langit, labaw pa sa pinakamataas nga mga bituon. 13Amo ina kon ngaa nagasiling ka, ‘Wala nakahibalo ang Dios sa akon ginahimo. Natabunan siya sang gal-om, paano siya makahukom? 14Ginalikupan siya sang madamol nga mga panganod, gani indi niya kita makita samtang nagalakat siya sa ibabaw sang langit.’
15“Magpadayon ka bala sa pagsunod sa pagginawi nga dugay na nga ginasunod sang malaot nga mga tawo? 16Nagkalamatay sila sa wala pa ang ila tion; pareho sila sa pundasyon sang balay nga gin-anod sang baha. 17Nagsiling sila sa Makagagahom nga Dios, ‘Pabay-i lang kami! Ano bala ang mahimo mo para sa amon?’ 18Pero ang Dios amo ang nagpuno sang ila mga balay sang maayo nga mga butang. Gani kon ano man ang ilaygay sining malaot nga mga tawo, indi gid ako magpamati.
19“Kon makita sang matarong kag inosente nga mga tawo ang pagkalaglag sang malaot nga mga tawo, magakalipay sila kag magakadlaw sa ila. 20Magasiling sila, ‘Nalaglag gid ang aton mga kaaway, kag ginlamon sang kalayo ang ila pagkabutang.’
21“Job, magpasakop ka sa Dios kag magpakighusay sa iya agod pakamaayuhon niya ikaw. 22Batuna ang iya mga pagtudlo kag tipigi ang iya mga pulong sa imo tagipusuon. 23Kon magbalik ka sa Makagagahom nga Dios, kag kuhaon mo ang kalautan sa imo panimalay, ibalik niya ang imo maayo nga kahimtangan. 24Indi paghatagi sang bili ang imo mga bulawan; kabiga ina nga daw sa balas lang ukon daw sa mga bato lang sa suba. 25Dayon ang Makagagahom nga Dios mangin pareho sang bulawan kag malahalon nga pilak sa imo. 26Dayon masapwan mo ang kalipay nga nagahalin sa Makagagahom nga Dios, kag indi ka mahuya sa pagpalapit sa iya. 27Magapangamuyo ka sa iya kag pamatian ka niya, kag pagatumanon mo ang imo mga promisa sa iya. 28Ano man ang ginaplano mo nga himuon, matuman ini, kag mangin masanag ang imo alagyan. 29Kon may ara sang tawo nga nagakaluya, kag kon magpangamuyo ka sa Dios nga pabakuron siya, buligan niya ang amo nga tawo. 30Bisan ang tawo nga nakasala luwason niya paagi sa imo matarong nga kabuhi.”
1Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?22.2 as he…: or, if he may be profitable, doth his good success depend thereon? 3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? 4Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
5Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? 6For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.22.6 the naked…: Heb. the clothes of the naked 7Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry. 8But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.22.8 mighty…: Heb. man of arm22.8 honourable…: Heb. eminent, or, accepted for countenance 9Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. 10Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee; 11Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee. 12Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!22.12 height of the stars: Heb. head of the stars 13And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?22.13 How: or, What 14Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
