1Mga anak, pamatii ninyo sing maayo ang mga pagtadlong sang inyo amay sa inyo pamatasan, agod may matun-an kamo. 2Maayo ang akon ginatudlo, gani indi ninyo ini pag-ibaliwala. 3Sang bata pa gid ako sa poder sang akon amay, paborito4:3 paborito: ukon, bugtong nga anak. ako sang akon iloy. 4Gintudluan ako sang akon amay. Siling niya sa akon, “Hupti sa imo tagipusuon ang mga ginatudlo ko sa imo. Tumana ang mga sugo ko sa imo agod padayon ka nga magakabuhi. 5Tinguhai nga makaangkon ka sang kaalam kag pag-intiendi. Indi pagkalimti ang mga ginasiling ko sa imo, kag indi ka magbiya sa sini. 6Indi pag-isikwaya ang kaalam, kundi hatagi ini sing importansya, kay magatipig ini sa imo. 7Ang kaalam ukon ang pag-intiendi amo ang pinakaimportante sa tanan, gani tinguhaan mo gid nga maangkon mo ini bisan maubos ang tanan mo nga pagkabutang.4:7 gani tinguhaan mo… pagkabutang: ukon, gani bisan ano man ang imo ginaangkon, tinguhaan mo gid nga maangkon ang kaalam kag ang pag-intiendi. 8Pakamahala kag batuna ang kaalam, kay makahatag ini sa imo sang kadungganan. 9Pareho ini sa korokorona nga mga bulak nga makapatahom sa imo.”
10Anak, pamatii kag batuna ang mga ginasiling ko sa imo, agod magalawig ang imo kabuhi. 11Gintudluan ko na ikaw sang kaalam, kon paano ka magkabuhi sing husto. 12Gani kon sundon mo ini, wala sing may makasablag sa imo pagkabuhi, kag indi ka maano. 13Indi gid pagkalimti ang mga pagtadlong ko sa imo pamatasan; tipigi ini sa imo tagipusuon kay magakabuhi ka sa sini.
14Indi pagsunda ang ginahimo sang mga malaot. 15Likawi gid ina kag magpadayon ka sa imo pagkabuhi nga matarong. 16Kay indi sila makatulog kon indi sila makahimo sang malain ukon makapanglaglag sa iban. 17Ang kalautan kag ang pagpamintas daw pagkaon kag ilimnon para sa ila.
18Ang pagkabuhi sang mga matarong pareho sa pagbutlak sang adlaw nga nagasanag pa gid hasta mag-udto. 19Pero ang pagkabuhi sang mga malaot pareho sa kadulom, kag indi nila mahibaluan kon ano ang kabangdanan sang ila pagkalaglag.
20Anak, pamatii sing maayo ang mga ginatudlo ko sa imo; 21indi gid ini pagkalimti, kundi tipigi ini sa imo tagipusuon. 22Kay nagahatag ini sang maayo nga lawas kag malawig nga kabuhi sa mga nagabaton sini.
23Bantayi sing maayo ang imo hunahuna, kay kon ano ang imo ginahunahuna amo man ang imo kabuhi. 24Indi ka maghambal sing dinaya ukon binutig. 25Isintro ang imo panulok sa maayo. 26Hunahunaa gid sing maayo ang tanan mo nga pagahimuon agod mangin maayo ang resulta sini. 27Magkabuhi ka sing tadlong; likawi ang paghimo sang malaot.
1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. 4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.4.9 a crown…: or, she shall compass thee with a crown of glory 10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. 11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. 12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. 13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14¶ Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. 16For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. 17For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. 18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. 19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.4.22 health: Heb. medicine
