Nagbulag si Abram kag si Lot
1Halin sa Egipto, nagkadto si Abram sa Negev upod ang iya asawa kag dala ang tanan niya nga pagkabutang, kag nag-upod man sa ila si Lot. 2Manggaranon na kaayo si Abram; madamo na ang iya kasapatan, pilak, kag bulawan. 3Halin sa Negev, nagsaylo-saylo sila hasta nga nakabalik sila sa lugar nga ila anay ginpatindugan sang tolda. Ini nga lugar ara sa tunga-tunga sang Betel kag Ai. 4Diri man sila una nga nagpatindog sang halaran sang pag-abot nila sa Canaan. Sa liwat nagsimba didto si Abraham sa Ginoo.
5Si Lot nga nagaupod man kay Abram kon diin siya magkadto may iya man nga mga kasapatan kag mga tolda. 6Kag tungod kay madamo na ang ila kasapatan kag iban pa nga mga pagkabutang, indi sila puwede nga magtingob estar sa isa ka lugar. Ang palahalban13:6 palahalban: sa iban nga Bisaya, pahalalban. indi makaigo sa ila. 7Tungod sini, nag-ilinaway ang mga manugbantay sang ila mga kasapatan. (Sadto nga panahon ang mga Canaanhon kag mga Periznon nagaestar pa sa sadto nga duta.)
8Gani nagsiling si Abram kay Lot, “Kita kag ang aton mga tinawo indi dapat mag-ilinaway, kay magparyentihanay kita. 9Ang maayo pa, mabulagay na lang kita tungod madamo pa man sang lugar nga puwede sayluhan. Ikaw ang magpili kon diin nga bahin sang duta ang imo gusto. Kon mapawala ka, mapatuo ako; kon mapatuo ka, mapawala ako.”
10Nagtan-aw si Lot sa palibot kag nakita niya nga bugana sang tubig ang Kapatagan sang Jordan hasta sa Zoar, pareho sang katamnan sang Ginoo13:10 katamnan sang Ginoo: ukon, katamnan sang Eden. kag sang duta sang Egipto. (Ini sang wala pa ginlaglag sang Ginoo ang Sodom kag Gomora.) 11Gani ginpili ni Lot ang bug-os nga Kapatagan sang Jordan sa sidlangan. Sa amo nga paagi nagbulagay si Lot kag si Abram. 12Si Abram nagpabilin sa Canaan samtang si Lot iya didto sa mga banwa sang kapatagan. Nagpatindog si Lot sang iya mga tolda malapit sa Sodom. 13Ang mga tawo sa Sodom tama gid ka makasasala. Puwerte gid ang ila pagpakasala kontra sa Ginoo.
Nagsaylo si Abram sa Hebron
14Sang nakahalin na si Lot, nagsiling ang Ginoo kay Abram, “Halin sa imo ginatindugan tan-awa sing maayo ang imo palibot. 15Ang tanan nga duta nga malambot sang imo panulok ihatag ko sa imo kag sa imo mga kaliwat, kag mangin inyo ina hasta san-o. 16Hatagan ko ikaw sing madamo nga mga kaliwat nga ang ila kadamuon pareho sa yab-ok. Ang yab-ok indi maisip, gani ang imo mga kaliwat indi man maisip. 17Lakat ka kag libuta ang bug-os nga duta kay ihatag ko ina tanan sa imo.” 18Gani ginhalin ni Abram ang iya mga tolda, kag didto siya nag-estar malapit sa dalagko nga mga kahoy13:18 dalagko nga mga kahoy: Tan-awa ang footnote sa 12:6. ni Mamre didto sa Hebron, kag naghimo siya didto sang halaran para sa Ginoo.
Abram and Lot Separate
1Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev Desert. He took his wife and everything he had. Lot went with him. 2Abram had become very rich. He had a lot of livestock and silver and gold.
3Abram left the Negev Desert. He went from place to place until he came to Bethel. Then he came to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier. 4There he called on the name of the Lord at the altar he had built.
5Lot was moving around with Abram. Lot also had flocks and herds and tents. 6But the land didn’t have enough food for both Abram and Lot. They had large herds and many servants, so they weren’t able to stay together. 7The people who took care of Abram’s herds and those who took care of Lot’s herds began to argue. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.
8So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not argue with each other. The people taking care of your herds and those taking care of mine shouldn’t argue with one another either. After all, we’re part of the same family. 9Isn’t the whole land in front of you? Let’s separate. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right. If you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”
10Lot looked around. He saw that the whole Jordan River valley toward the town of Zoar had plenty of water. It was like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. 11So Lot chose the whole Jordan River valley for himself. Then he started out toward the east. The two men separated. 12Abram lived in the land of Canaan. Lot lived among the cities of the Jordan River valley. He set up his tents near Sodom. 13The people of Sodom were evil. They were sinning greatly against the Lord.
14The Lord spoke to Abram after Lot had left him. He said, “Look around from where you are. Look north and south, east and west. 15I will give you all the land you see. I will give it forever to you and your family who comes after you. 16I will make them like the dust of the earth. Can dust be counted? If it can, then your family can be counted. 17Go! Walk through the land. See how long and wide it is. I am giving it to you.”
18So Abram went to live near the large trees of Mamre at Hebron. There he pitched his tents and built an altar to honor the Lord.
