Nagpangasawa ang mga Israelinhon sang mga Indi Israelinhon
1Nagsiling pa si Ezra: Pagkatapos sini nga hitabo, nagkadto sa akon ang mga pangulo sang mga Judio kag nagsiling, “Madamo sa katawhan sang Israel, pati na ang mga pari kag ang mga Levita, ang nagaginawi pareho sang mga katawhan sa ila palibot. Ginahimo nila ang mga makangilil-ad nga mga buluhaton sang mga Canaanhon, Hithanon, Periznon, Jebusnon, Ammonhon, Moabnon, Egiptohanon, kag Amornon. 2Nagpangasawa pa gani sila kag ang ila mga anak sang mga babayi nga halin sa sini nga mga katawhan. Gani ang katawhan nga pinili sang Dios nasimpunan sang iban nga mga katawhan. Kag ang aton mga pangulo kag mga opisyal amo pa ang nanguna sa paghimo sini.”
3Sang mabatian ko ini, gin-gisi ko ang akon bayo sa kasubo; gin-gan-it ko ang akon buhok kag burangos, kag nagpungko ako nga nagakaurungan. 4Nagtipon sa akon ang mga tawo nga hinadlukan sa mensahi sang Dios sang Israel parte sa pagluib sang ila kapareho nga mga Israelinhon nga nagbalik halin sa pagkabihag. Nagpungko lang ako nga nagakaurungan hasta nga nag-abot ang oras sang pangsirom nga halad.9:4 pangsirom nga halad: Ginahimo ini sang pagsalop na sang adlaw. 5Pag-abot sang sina nga oras, gin-untatan ko ang akon pagpangasubo. Nagluhod ako nga gisi ang akon bayo, kag nagpangamuyo nga nagabayaw sang akon mga kamot sa Ginoo nga akon Dios. 6Siling ko, “Dios ko, nahuya gid ako. Indi ako makatangla sa imo sa kahuya, tungod kay puwerte na gid ang amon mga sala; daw lapaw na ini sa amon mga ulo kag lambot na sa langit. 7Halin sang panahon sang amon mga katigulangan hasta subong, puwerte ang amon sala; kag tungod sini, kami kag ang amon mga hari kag mga pari permi ginasakop sang mga hari sang iban nga mga nasyon. Ginpamatay nila ang iban sa amon, kag ang iban ginbihag, ginkawatan kag ginpakahuy-an, pareho sa nagakatabo sa amon subong.
8“Kag karon, sa malip-ot nga tion, ginkaluoyan mo kami, Ginoo nga amon Dios. Gintugutan mo nga may mabilin sa amon, kag ginpaestar mo kami nga may seguridad sa sining lugar nga imo ginpili. Ginhatagan mo kami sang paglaom kag ginpahaganhagan mo ang amon kahimtangan sa amon pagkaulipon. 9Bisan mga ulipon kami, wala mo kami ginapabay-an sa amon pagkaulipon, kundi ginapakita mo ang imo gugma sa amon paagi sa maayo nga pagtratar sang mga hari sang Persia sa amon. Ginhimo mo ini agod mahatagan mo kami sang bag-o nga kabuhi, kag agod mapatindog namon liwat ang imo templo nga naguba, kag agod mahatagan mo kami sang proteksyon diri sa Juda kag Jerusalem.
10“Pero karon nga nakasala kami, O Dios namon, ano pa ang masiling namon? Kay ginbaliwala namon ang imo mga sugo 11nga ginhatag mo sa amon paagi sa imo mga alagad nga mga propeta. Nagsiling sila sa amon nga ang duta nga amon kadtuan agod panag-iyahan mahigko nga duta tungod sang kalautan sang mga pumuluyo sini. Ginhigkuan nila ang bisan diin nga parte sang sini nga duta paagi sa ila makangilil-ad nga mga binuhatan. 12Nagsiling man ang mga propeta sa amon nga indi gid kami magpangasawa ukon magpamana sa ila, kag indi gid kami magbulig sa ila nga mag-uswag sila, agod mangin malig-on kag mainuswagon kami,9:12 mainuswagon kami: ukon, makakaon kami sang pinakamaayo nga mga produkto sang duta. kag agod ini nga kauswagan magapabilin sa amon mga kaliwat hasta san-o. 13Ginsilutan mo kami, O Dios namon, tungod sang amon mga sala. Pero ang silot mo sa amon indi tuman nga bayad sa sala nga nahimo namon, kag gintugutan mo pa nga may mabilin nga buhi sa amon. 14Pero bisan pa sini, ginsupak liwat namon ang imo mga sugo, kag nagpangasawa kag nagpamana kami sang mga tawo nga nagahimo sang makangilil-ad nga mga binuhatan. Sigurado gid nga maakig ka sa amon kag laglagon mo kami hasta nga wala na sing may mabilin sa amon. 15O Ginoo, Dios sang Israel, matarong ikaw. Kay gintugutan mo nga may mabilin sa amon nga buhi hasta subong. Ginatuad namon ang amon mga sala, kay indi kami makapabilin sa imo presensya tungod sining amon mga sala.”
1Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass. 3And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied. 4Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.
5¶ And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,9.5 heaviness: or, affliction 6And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.9.6 trespass: or, guiltiness 7Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day. 8And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.9.8 space: Heb. moment9.8 a nail: or, a pin: that is, a constant and sure abode 9For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.9.9 to repair: Heb. to set up 10And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments, 11Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.9.11 by: Heb. by the hand of9.11 from…: Heb. from mouth to mouth 12Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever. 13And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;9.13 hast punished…: Heb. hast withheld beneath our iniquities 14Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping? 15O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.
