1Luyag ko nga mahibaluan ninyo nga puwerte gid ang akon pangabudlay para sa inyo kag sa mga taga-Laodicea, kag pati man sa iban nga wala pa nakakita sa akon. 2Ginahimo ko ini para mapabaskog ko kamo kag sila. Gintudluan ko kamo nga may paghigugma, kag ginapaabot ko nga maintiendihan gid ninyo kag mahibaluan ang tinago nga plano sang Dios parte kay Cristo. 3Si Cristo amo ang ginahalinan sang tanan nga kaalam kag pag-intiendi.
4Ginasugid ko ini sa inyo agod wala sing may makadaya sa inyo paagi sa ila makahalaylo nga mga pulong. 5Kay bisan wala ako dira sa inyo, permi ko kamo ginadumdom, kag nalipay gid ako tungod nga maayo ang inyo pag-inupdanay kag malig-on gid ang inyo pagtuo kay Cristo.
Si Cristo ang Dapat Naton Sundon
6Tungod nga ginkilala na ninyo si Cristo Jesus bilang Ginoo,2:6 Ginoo: buot silingon, agalon. dapat magpadayon kamo sa iya. 7Magpanggamot kamo sa iya kag magtubo. Magpakalig-on kamo sa pagtuo nga gintudlo sa inyo, kag magpasalamat man kamo permi sa Dios.
8Mag-andam kamo sa mga tawo nga gusto maghaylo sa inyo sa ila mga pilosopiya nga wala sing pulos kag pangdaya lang. Ining mga ginatudlo nila indi halin kay Cristo kundi mga tradisyon lang sang tawo kag mga sistema nga halin lang diri sa kalibutan. 9Ang matuod, si Cristo nangin tawo, kag bisan nangin tawo siya, ara pa gihapon sa iya ang iya pagka-Dios. 10Ang bugana nga kabuhi ara sa inyo2:10 Ang bugana nga kabuhi ara sa inyo: ukon, Kon ano ang ara sa iya, ara man sa inyo. tungod nga kamo ara kay Cristo nga nagagahom sa tanan nga mga espiritu nga nagahari kag may awtoridad.
11Tungod nga kamo ara kay Cristo, natuli na kamo. Pero indi ina pareho sang pagtuli sang mga Judio nga may ginakuha sa lawas sang tawo, kundi ang malain nga mga handom sang inyo lawas nga makasasala amo ang ginkuha ni Cristo. 12Kay ang pagbautiso sa inyo nagakahulugan nga ginlubong kamo upod ni Cristo. Kag tungod nga kamo ara kay Cristo, ginbanhaw man kamo upod niya, kay nagsalig kamo sa gahom sang Dios nga nagbanhaw sa iya. 13Sang una, kamo nga mga indi Judio patay sa panulok sang Dios tungod sa inyo makasasala nga kabuhi. Pero subong ginbuhi kamo sang Dios upod ni Cristo. Ginpatawad niya ang tanan ta nga mga sala. 14May salabton kita kuntani sa Dios tungod nga indi naton matuman ang iya mga kasuguan. Pero gindula ini sang Dios paagi sa pagpalansang ni Cristo sa krus, gani indi na kita pagsilutan. 15Didto man sa krus ginpierdi sang Dios ang mga espiritu nga nagahari kag may awtoridad, kag ginpakita niya sa tanan nga sila nabihag na niya.
16Gani indi kamo magpadala-dala sa mga tawo nga nagasiling sa inyo kon ano ang indi dapat kaunon ukon imnon, ukon ano ang dapat himuon sa mga piesta, kon maglati ang bulan, kag sa Adlaw nga Inugpahuway. 17Ang mga pagsulundan nga ina landong lang sang mga butang nga ginapaabot sang una, nga amo si Cristo. 18May mga tawo man nga nagapabugal nga nakakita sila sang mga palanan-awon, kag luyag nila piliton ang mga tawo nga magpaubos kag magsimba sa mga anghel. Indi kamo magpadaog sa sina nga mga tawo. Wala sing pulos inang ila pagpabugal, kay tawhanon lang ina nga mga panghunahuna. 19Indi nila gusto nga magpasakop kay Cristo nga aton ulo, nga amo ang nagahatag sa aton nga iya lawas sang mga kinahanglanon sini paagi sa mga parte nga nagaalangot, kag sa sini nga paagi nagatubo kita suno sa luyag sang Dios.
Ang Bag-o nga Kabuhi kay Cristo
20Napatay na kamo upod kay Cristo kag nahilway na kamo sa wala pulos nga mga sistema diri sa kalibutan. Gani ngaa nagakabuhi pa gid kamo pareho sa mga tawo sang kalibutan? Ngaa nagasunod pa gid kamo sa mga pagsulundan pareho sang: 21“Indi ka mag-uyat sini,” “Indi ka magtilaw sina,” ukon “Indi ka magtandog sina”? 22Ina nga mga pagsulundan nga ginatudlo sang mga tawo himo-himo lang nila kag parte lang sa mga butang nga madula man lang matapos nga kaunon. 23Kon hunahunaon ta, daw husto man ang ila mga pagtudlo parte sa pagsimba nga ila naluyagan, parte sa pagpaubos kag pagpenitensya sa lawas. Pero ang matuod, ina nga mga butang indi gid makabulig sa aton sa pagpugong sang lawasnon nga mga kailigbon.
1I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. 2My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. 5For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
Spiritual Fullness in Christ
6So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces2:8 Or the basic principles; also in verse 20 of this world rather than on Christ.
9For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh2:11 In contexts like this, the Greek word for flesh (sarx) refers to the sinful state of human beings, often presented as a power in opposition to the Spirit; also in verse 13. was put off when you were circumcised by2:11 Or put off in the circumcision of Christ, 12having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you2:13 Some manuscripts us alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.2:15 Or them in him
Freedom From Human Rules
16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
20Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21“Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? 22These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. 23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
