Ang Mga Pagbag-o nga Ginhimo ni Asa
1Karon, gin-gamhan sang Espiritu sang Dios si Azaria nga anak ni Oded. 2Nagpakigkita siya kay Asa kag nagsiling sa iya, “Pamatii ninyo ako Haring Asa, kag tanan kamo nga taga-Juda kag taga-Benjamin. Magapabilin ang Ginoo sa inyo samtang nagapabilin kamo sa iya. Kon magdangop kamo sa iya, makita ninyo ang iya kaayo. Pero kon talikdan ninyo siya, talikdan man niya kamo. 3Sa malawig nga panahon nagkabuhi ang mga Israelinhon nga wala sing matuod nga Dios, wala sing mga pari nga nagatudlo sa ila, kag wala sing kasuguan. 4Pero sa ila kalisod, nagdangop sila sa Ginoo, ang Dios sang Israel, kag ginbuligan niya sila. 5Sadto nga tion, delikado ang pagbiyahe tungod kay nagaginamo ang mga tawo. 6Nagailinaway ang mga nasyon kag ang mga siyudad, tungod ginpagamo sila sang Dios paagi sa nagkalain-lain nga mga kalisod. 7Pero kamo iya, magpakaisog kamo kag indi magkaluya, kay ang inyo mga binuhatan pagabalusan.”
8Pagkabati ni Asa sa mensahi ni Azaria nga anak ni Oded, nagpakaisog siya. Ginpakuha niya ang makangilil-ad nga mga dios-dios sa bug-os nga Juda kag Benjamin, kag sa mga banwa nga iya naagaw sa kabukiran sang Efraim. Ginpakay-o niya ang halaran sang Ginoo nga ara sa atubangan sang balkon sang templo sang Ginoo.
9Dayon ginpatipon niya ang tanan nga katawhan sang Juda kag Benjamin, kag ang mga katawhan halin sa Efraim, Manase, kag Simeon nga nag-estar upod sa ila. Madamo ang nagsaylo sa Juda halin sa Israel sang makita nila nga si Asa ginaupdan sang Ginoo nga iya Dios.
10Nagtipon sila sa Jerusalem sang ikatatlo nga bulan sang ika-15 nga tuig sang paghari ni Asa. 11Kag sa sina nga tion naghalad sila sa Ginoo sang mga sapat halin sa ila naagaw sa inaway—700 ka baka kag 7,000 ka karnero kag kanding. 12Naghimo sila sang kasugtanan nga magdangop sa Ginoo, ang Dios sang ila mga katigulangan, sa bug-os nila nga tagipusuon kag kalag. 13Ang bisan sin-o nga indi magdangop sa Ginoo, ang Dios sang Israel, pagapatyon, bata man ukon tigulang, lalaki man ukon babayi. 14Nagsumpa sila sa Ginoo sa mabaskog nga tingog, nga may paghinugyaw kag pagpatunog sang mga trumpeta kag mga budyong. 15Nagkalipay gid ang tanan nga taga-Juda tungod kay nagsumpa sila sing tinagipusuon. Nagdangop sila sa Dios nga hugot gid sa ila tagipusuon, kag nakita nila ang iya kaayo. Kag ginhatagan sila sang Ginoo sang kalinong sa ila mga kaaway sa palibot.
16Ginpahalin man ni Haring Asa ang iya lola nga si Maaca sa iya pagkarayna tungod kay naghimo siya sang makangilil-ad nga hulohaligi nga simbolo sang diosa nga si Ashera. Ginpautod ni Asa ini nga hulohaligi kag ginpabis-ak, kag ginpasunog sa Kidron nga ililigan sang tubig. 17Bisan wala madula ang tanan nga simbahan sa mataas nga mga lugar sa Israel, nagpabilin nga matutom si Asa sa Ginoo sa bug-os niya nga kabuhi. 18Gindala niya sa templo sang Dios ang mga pilak, mga bulawan, kag ang iban pa nga mga butang nga gindedikar niya kag sang iya amay sa Dios.
19Wala gid sing inaway hasta sa ika-35 nga tuig sang paghari ni Asa.
1And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded: 2And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.15.2 to meet…: Heb. before Asa 3Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. 4But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them. 5And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. 6And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.15.6 destroyed: Heb. beaten in pieces 7Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
8And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.15.8 abominable…: Heb. abominations 9And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him. 10So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. 11And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.15.11 the same…: Heb. in that day 12And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul; 13That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. 14And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets. 15And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
16¶ And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.15.16 mother: that is, grandmother15.16 idol: Heb. horror 17But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18¶ And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels. 19And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
