Cántico. Salmo de Asaf.
1Oh Dios, no guardes silencio;
no te quedes, oh Dios, callado e impasible.
2Mira cómo se alborotan tus enemigos,
cómo te desafían los que te odian.
3Con astucia conspiran contra tu pueblo;
conspiran contra aquellos a quienes tú estimas.
4Y dicen: «¡Venid, destruyamos su nación!
¡Que el nombre de Israel no vuelva a recordarse!»
5Como un solo hombre se confabulan;
han hecho un pacto contra ti:
6los campamentos de Edom y de Ismael,
los de Moab y de Agar,
7Guebal,83:7 Guebal. Es decir, Biblos. Amón y Amalec,
los de Filistea y los habitantes de Tiro.
8¡Hasta Asiria se les ha unido;
ha apoyado a los descendientes de Lot! Selah
9Haz con ellos como hiciste con Madián,
como hiciste con Sísara y Jabín en el río Quisón,
10los cuales perecieron en Endor
y quedaron en la tierra, como estiércol.
11Haz con sus nobles
como hiciste con Oreb y con Zeb;
haz con todos sus príncipes
como hiciste con Zeba y con Zalmuna,
12que decían: «Vamos a adueñarnos
de los pastizales de Dios».
13Hazlos rodar como hojarasca, Dios mío;
¡como paja que se lleva el viento!
14Y así como el fuego consume los bosques
y las llamas incendian las montañas,
15así persíguelos con tus tormentas
y aterrorízalos con tus tempestades.
16Señor, cúbreles el rostro de ignominia,
para que busquen tu nombre.
17Que sean siempre puestos en vergüenza;
que perezcan humillados.
18Que sepan que tú eres el Señor,
que ese es tu nombre;
que sepan que solo tú eres el Altísimo
sobre toda la tierra.

2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:83.5 consent: Heb. heart
6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.83.8 holpen: Heb. been an arm to
9Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
