Nueva Versión Internacional (Castilian)

Salmo 12:1-8

Salmo 12

Al director musical. Sobre la octava.12:0 12 Tít. Sobre la octava. Lit. Sobre sheminit. Salmo de David.

1Sálvanos, Señor, que ya no hay gente fiel;

ya no queda gente sincera en este mundo.

2No hacen sino mentirse unos a otros;

sus labios lisonjeros hablan con doblez.

3El Señor cortará todo labio lisonjero

y toda lengua jactanciosa

4que dice: «Venceremos con la lengua;

en nuestros labios confiamos.

¿Quién puede dominarnos?»

5Dice el Señor: «Voy ahora a levantarme,

y pondré a salvo a los oprimidos,

pues al pobre se le oprime,

y el necesitado se queja».

6Las palabras del Señor son puras,

son como la plata refinada,

siete veces purificada en el crisol.

7Tú, Señor, nos protegerás;

tú siempre nos defenderás de esta gente,

8aun cuando los malvados sigan merodeando,

y la maldad sea exaltada en este mundo.

Psalms 12:1-8

Psalm 12In Hebrew texts 12:1-8 is numbered 12:2-9.

For the director of music. According to sheminith.Title: Probably a musical term A psalm of David.

1Help, Lord, for no-one is faithful anymore;

those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.

2Everyone lies to their neighbour;

they flatter with their lips

but harbour deception in their hearts.

3May the Lord silence all flattering lips

and every boastful tongue –

4those who say,

‘By our tongues we will prevail;

our own lips will defend us – who is lord over us?’

5‘Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,

I will now arise,’ says the Lord.

‘I will protect them from those who malign them.’

6And the words of the Lord are flawless,

like silver purified in a crucible,

like gold12:6 Probable reading of the original Hebrew text; Masoretic Text earth refined seven times.

7You, Lord, will keep the needy safe

and will protect us for ever from the wicked,

8who freely strut about

when what is vile is honoured by the human race.
