Impenitencia de Israel
1¡Venid, volvámonos al Señor!
Él nos ha despedazado, pero nos sanará;
nos ha herido, pero nos vendará.
2Después de dos días nos dará vida;
al tercer día nos levantará,
y así viviremos en su presencia.
3Conozcamos al Señor;
vayamos tras su conocimiento.
Tan cierto como que sale el sol,
él habrá de manifestarse;
vendrá a nosotros como la lluvia de invierno,
como la lluvia de primavera que riega la tierra.
4«¿Qué voy a hacer contigo, Efraín?
¿Qué voy a hacer contigo, Judá?
Vuestro amor es como nube matutina,
como rocío que temprano se evapora.
5Por eso los hice pedazos por medio de los profetas;
los herí con las palabras de mi boca.
¡Mi sentencia los fulminará como un relámpago!
6Lo que pido de vosotros es amor y no sacrificios,
conocimiento de Dios y no holocaustos.
7Son como Adán:
han quebrantado el pacto,
¡me han traicionado!
8Galaad es una ciudad de malhechores;
sus pisadas dejan huellas de sangre.
9Una pandilla de sacerdotes
está al acecho en el camino a Siquén
y, como banda de salteadores,
comete toda clase de infamias.
10En el reino de Israel
he visto algo horrible:
Allí se prostituye Efraín
y se mancilla Israel.
11»¡A ti también, Judá,
te espera la cosecha de tu maldad!
»Cuando cambie yo la suerte de mi pueblo,
1Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 3Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
4¶ O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee?
