Liberación de Israel
1En aquel día el Señor castigará
a Leviatán, la serpiente huidiza,
a Leviatán, la serpiente tortuosa.
Con su espada violenta, grande y poderosa,
matará al Dragón que está en el mar.
2«Cantad en aquel día
a la viña escogida:
3Yo, el Señor, soy su guardián;
todo el tiempo riego mi viña.
Día y noche cuido de ella
para que nadie le haga daño.
4No estoy enojado.
Si tuviera zarzas y espinos,
pelearía contra ella
y la quemaría totalmente,
5a menos que ella acudiera a mi refugio
e hiciera las paces conmigo,
sí, que hiciera las paces conmigo».
6Días vendrán en que Jacob echará raíces,
en que Israel retoñará y florecerá,
y llenará el mundo con sus frutos.
7¿Acaso el Señor lo ha golpeado
como hizo con quien lo golpeaba?
¿Acaso le dio muerte
como hizo con quienes lo mataron?
8Contendió con él con guerra27:8 guerra. Palabra de difícil traducción. y destierro;
lo expulsó con su soplo violento
al soplar el viento del este.
9Así quedará expiada la iniquidad de Jacob;
esta será la única condición
para que se le perdone su pecado:
que reduzca a polvo todas las piedras del altar,
como si moliera piedra caliza,
y no deje en pie ninguna imagen de Aserá
ni altar de incienso alguno.
10En ruinas está la ciudad fortificada;
es un sitio sin habitantes,
abandonado como el desierto.
Allí se echa el ternero,
allí pace y deshoja las ramas.
11Una vez secas, las ramas se quiebran;
vienen luego las mujeres y con ellas hacen fuego.
Porque este es un pueblo sin entendimiento;
por eso su creador no tiene compasión de él,
ni de él se apiada quien lo formó.
12En aquel día el Señor trillará desde las corrientes del Éufrates hasta el torrente de Egipto, y vosotros, israelitas, seréis recogidos uno por uno. 13En aquel día sonará una gran trompeta. Los que fueron llevados a Asiria y los que fueron desterrados a Egipto vendrán y adorarán al Señor sobre el monte santo en Jerusalén.

12¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. 13And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
