Nyimbo yoyimba pokwera ku Yerusalemu.
1Ndikulirira kwa Inu Yehova ndili mʼdzenje lozama;
2Ambuye imvani mawu anga.
Makutu anu akhale tcheru kumva
kupempha chifundo kwanga.
3Inu Yehova, mukanamawerengera machimo,
Inu Yehova, akanayima chilili ndani wopanda mlandu?
4Koma kwa Inu kuli chikhululukiro;
nʼchifukwa chake mumaopedwa.
5Ndimayembekezera Yehova, moyo wanga umayembekezera,
ndipo ndimakhulupirira mawu ake.
6Moyo wanga umayembekezera Ambuye,
kupambana momwe alonda amayembekezera mmawa,
inde, kupambana momwe alonda amayembekezera mmawa,
7Yembekeza Yehova, iwe Israeli,
pakuti Yehova ali ndi chikondi chosasinthika
ndipo alinso ndi chipulumutso chochuluka.

A song of ascents.
1Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
2Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
3If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
4But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
5I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.

more than watchmen wait for the morning,

7Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
