真葡萄樹
1耶穌說：「我是真葡萄樹，我父是栽培的人。 2屬於我的枝子如果不結果子，祂就把它剪掉；如果結果子，祂便修剪它，讓它結更多的果子。 3我對你們所講的道已經使你們潔淨了。 4你們要常在我裡面，我就常在你們裡面。枝子若離開葡萄樹，就不能結果子。同樣，你們若不常在我裡面，也不能結果子。
5「我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裡面的，我也常在他裡面，他就會多結果子，因為你們離開了我什麼都不能做。 6不常在我裡面的人就像丟在外面枯乾的枝子，最後只有被人拾起來丟在火裡燒掉。 7如果你們常在我裡面，我的話也常在你們裡面，無論你們求什麼，都會得到應允。 8你們多結果子，證明自己是我的門徒，就會給我父帶來榮耀。 9父怎樣愛我，我也怎樣愛你們。你們要常在我的愛中。 10你們若遵守我的命令，就必常在我的愛中，正如我遵守了父的命令，常在父的愛中一樣。
11「我把這些事告訴你們，是要叫你們心裡有我的喜樂，讓你們的喜樂滿溢。 12你們要彼此相愛，像我愛你們一樣，這就是我的命令。 13為朋友捨命可以說是人間最偉大的愛了。 14你們如果照我的吩咐去做，就是我的朋友。 15我不再稱你們為奴僕，因為奴僕不知道主人的事。我稱你們為朋友，因為我把從父那裡聽見的一切都告訴了你們。 16不是你們揀選了我，而是我揀選了你們，並且派你們出去結永存的果子。這樣，你們奉我的名無論向父求什麼，祂都會賜給你們。 17我把這些事吩咐你們，是要叫你們彼此相愛。
被世人憎惡
18「如果世人恨你們，要知道，他們恨你們以前已經恨我了。 19如果你們屬於這個世界，世人一定會愛你們。可是你們不屬於這世界，我已經把你們揀選出來，因此世人恨你們。 20你們要記住我說的話，『奴僕不能大過主人。』他們若迫害我，也必迫害你們；他們若遵行我的話，也必遵行你們的話。 21世人將因為我的名而這樣對待你們，因為他們不認識差我來的那位。 22我如果沒有來教導他們，他們就沒有罪了，但現在他們的罪無可推諉。 23恨我的，也恨我的父。 24我如果沒有在他們當中行過空前的神蹟，他們就沒有罪了。然而，他們親眼看見了，竟然還恨我和我的父。 25這是要應驗他們律法書上的話，『他們無故地恨我。』
26「我要從父那裡為你們差護慰者來，祂就是從父而來的真理之靈。祂來了要為我做見證。 27你們也要為我做見證，因為你們從開始就與我在一起。
1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. 23He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 25But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. 26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
