運約櫃到耶路撒冷
1大衛召集了三萬名以色列精兵， 2率領他們到猶大的巴拉去接上帝的約櫃。這約櫃以坐在基路伯天使上面的萬軍之耶和華的名字命名。 3他們把上帝的約櫃從座落在山上的亞比拿達家抬出來，放在一輛新造的牛車上，由亞比拿達的兩個兒子烏撒和亞希約趕車， 4亞希約走在約櫃前面。 5大衛和全體以色列人在耶和華面前用琴、瑟、鼓、鈸和鑼奏樂，盡情歌舞。 6他們走到拿肯的麥場時，拉車的牛失蹄，烏撒便伸手去扶上帝的約櫃。 7耶和華上帝就向烏撒發怒，因他的不敬而擊殺了他。他死在了約櫃旁邊。 8大衛因耶和華擊殺烏撒而煩惱，就稱那地方為毗列斯·烏撒6·8 「毗列斯·烏撒」意思是「向烏撒發怒」。，沿用至今。
9那天，大衛懼怕耶和華，他說：「耶和華的約櫃怎能運到我這裡？」 10他不願把耶和華的約櫃運進大衛城，而是把它運到迦特人俄別·以東家。 11耶和華的約櫃在俄別·以東家停放了三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別·以東和他全家。
12大衛聽說耶和華因為約櫃而賜福給俄別·以東全家及其一切所有，就滿心歡喜地去把上帝的約櫃從俄別·以東家接進大衛城。 13這一次，抬耶和華約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻上公牛和肥犢為祭。 14大衛穿著細麻布的以弗得在耶和華面前盡情跳舞。 15大衛和全體以色列人在歡呼聲和號角聲中把耶和華的約櫃迎進大衛城。
16耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶看見大衛在耶和華面前又跳又舞，心裡就輕視他。 17他們把耶和華的約櫃抬來，安放在大衛準備好的帳篷裡。大衛在耶和華面前獻上燔祭和平安祭， 18然後奉萬軍之耶和華的名給民眾祝福， 19還分給所有以色列人，不論男女，每人一個餅、一塊肉和一個葡萄餅。眾人就各自回家去了。
20大衛回到家為自己的家人祝福，米甲出來迎接他，說：「今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像個粗俗之人，在臣僕和婢女面前露體！」 21大衛對她說：「我是在耶和華面前跳舞。祂不用你父親和你父親家裡的人，而是選立我來治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前歡慶。 22我要讓自己更卑微，自視低賤，但你說的那些婢女會尊重我。」
23掃羅的女兒米甲終生都沒有生育。

6¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.6.6 Nachon: also called Chidon6.6 shook it: or, stumbled 7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.6.7 error: or, rashness 8And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez-uzzah to this day.6.8 made: Heb. broken6.8 Perez-uzzah: that is, the breach of Uzzah 9And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? 10So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 11And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.
12¶ And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness. 13And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 14And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 15So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 16And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
17¶ And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.6.17 pitched: Heb. stretched 18And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. 19And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
20¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!6.20 shamelessly: or, openly 21And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. 22And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.6.22 of the…: or, of the handmaids of my servants 23Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
