好牧人
1耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，不从门进羊圈而从别处爬进去的人就是贼，是强盗。 2从门进去的才是羊的牧人， 3看门的会给他开门，羊也听他的声音。他按名字叫自己的羊，把它们领出来。 4领出来之后，自己便走在前面，羊群也跟着他，因为羊认得他的声音。 5羊从不跟随陌生人，见了陌生人就逃跑，因为它们不认得陌生人的声音。”
6耶稣讲了这个比喻，但听的人都不明白祂的意思。 7于是祂又说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，我就是羊的门。 8在我以前来的，都是贼，是强盗，羊不听从他们。 9我就是门，从我进来的必定得救，并且会安然出入，找到草吃。 10盗贼来，无非是要偷窃、杀害、毁坏。但我来是要羊得生命，并且得到丰盛的生命。
11“我是好牧人，好牧人为羊舍命。 12如果是雇工，不是牧人，羊也不是他的，狼一来，他必撇下羊逃命。狼就会抓住羊，把羊群驱散。 13他逃走，因为他是雇工，并不在乎羊。 14我是好牧人，我认识我的羊，我的羊也认识我， 15正如父认识我，我也认识父，并且我为羊舍命。 16我还有别的羊不在这羊圈里，我必须领他们回来，他们也必听我的声音。这样，我所有的羊将要合成一群，由一个牧人来带领。 17父爱我，因为我舍弃自己的生命，为了再得回生命。 18没有人能夺走我的生命，我是甘心舍弃的。我有权舍弃，也有权得回，这是我从父那里得到的命令。”
19犹太人因这番话又起了纷争。 20他们当中好些人说：“祂被鬼附身了！祂疯了！何必听祂的？”
21又有些人说：“被鬼附身的人不会说这种话的，鬼能医好瞎眼的人吗？”
被犹太人弃绝
22耶路撒冷庆祝修殿节的时候到了，是在冬天。 23当耶稣走过圣殿的所罗门廊时， 24一群犹太人围着祂说：“你让我们困惑、猜疑要到什么时候呢？如果你是基督，就清楚地告诉我们吧！”
25耶稣回答说：“我已经告诉你们了，你们却不信。我奉我父的名所行的神迹也为我做见证， 26只是你们不肯相信，因为你们不是我的羊。 27我的羊听我的声音，我也认识他们，他们也跟随我。 28我要赐他们永生，他们永不灭亡。没有人能从我的手里把他们抢走。 29我父把羊赐给我，祂比万物都大，没有人能从祂手中把羊抢走。 30我和父本为一。”
31于是犹太人又拿起石头要打祂。 32耶稣就问他们：“我将许多从父而来的美善之事显给你们看，你们为了哪一件事拿石头打我呢？”
33犹太人回答说：“我们不是因为你做的善事打你，而是因为你说了亵渎的话，你是人，却把自己当作上帝。”
34耶稣说：“你们的律法书上不是写着‘我曾说你们都是神’吗？ 35圣经上的话是不能废的，既然上帝称那些承受祂道的人为神， 36那么我是父分别出来又差到世上来的，我说自己是上帝的儿子，难道是亵渎吗？ 37如果我不做我父的事，你们不必信我。 38但如果我做了，你们纵然不信我，也应该相信我所做的事，这样你们就会知道、领悟父在我里面，我也在父里面。”
39他们又要抓耶稣，但祂从他们手中逃脱了。
40后来，耶稣到了约旦河东岸约翰从前施洗的地方，在那里住下来。 41许多人来到祂那里。他们说：“虽然约翰没有行过神迹，可是约翰所说关于这人的事全是真的。” 42在那里许多人信了耶稣。
The Good Shepherd and His Sheep
1“What I’m about to tell you Pharisees is true. What if someone does not enter the sheep pen through the gate but climbs in another way? That person is a thief and a robber. 2The one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3The gatekeeper opens the gate for him. The sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own sheep, he goes on ahead of them. His sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger. In fact, they will run away from him. They don’t recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6Jesus told this story. But the Pharisees didn’t understand what he was telling them.
7So Jesus said again, “What I’m about to tell you is true. I am like a gate for the sheep. 8All who have come before me are thieves and robbers. But the sheep have not listened to them. 9I’m like a gate. Anyone who enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out. And they will find plenty of food. 10A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.
11“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. 12The hired man is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when the hired man sees the wolf coming, he leaves the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired man. He does not care about the sheep.
14“I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep know me. 15They know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I give my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that do not belong to this sheep pen. I must bring them in too. They also will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd. 17The reason my Father loves me is that I give up my life. But I will take it back again. 18No one takes it from me. I give it up myself. I have the authority to give it up. And I have the authority to take it back again. I received this command from my Father.”
19The Jews who heard these words could not agree with one another. 20Many of them said, “He is controlled by a demon. He has gone crazy! Why should we listen to him?”
21But others said, “A person controlled by a demon does not say things like this. Can a demon open the eyes of someone who is blind?”
Another Challenge to Jesus’ Claims
22Then came the Feast of Hanukkah at Jerusalem. It was winter. 23Jesus was in the temple courtyard walking in Solomon’s Porch. 24The Jews who were gathered there around Jesus spoke to him. They said, “How long will you keep us waiting? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25Jesus answered, “I did tell you. But you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name are a witness for me. 26But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep. 27My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they will never die. No one will steal them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than anyone. No one can steal them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.”
31Again the Jews who had challenged him picked up stones to kill him. 32But Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. Which good work are you throwing stones at me for?”
33“We are not throwing stones at you for any good work,” they replied. “We are stoning you for saying a very evil thing. You are only a man. But you claim to be God.”
34Jesus answered them, “Didn’t God say in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods” ’? (Psalm 82:6) 35We know that Scripture is always true. God spoke to some people and called them ‘gods.’ 36If that is true, what about the one the Father set apart as his very own? What about this one the Father sent into the world? Why do you charge me with saying a very evil thing? Is it because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37Don’t believe me unless I do the works of my Father. 38But what if I do them? Even if you don’t believe me, believe these works. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” 39Again they tried to arrest him. But he escaped from them.
40Then Jesus went back across the Jordan River. He went to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed. 41Many people came to him. They said, “John never performed a sign. But everything he said about this man was true.” 42And in that place many believed in Jesus.
