运约柜到耶路撒冷
1大卫召集了三万名以色列精兵， 2率领他们到犹大的巴拉去接上帝的约柜。这约柜以坐在基路伯天使上面的万军之耶和华的名字命名。 3他们把上帝的约柜从坐落在山上的亚比拿达家抬出来，放在一辆新造的牛车上，由亚比拿达的两个儿子乌撒和亚希约赶车， 4亚希约走在约柜前面。 5大卫和全体以色列人在耶和华面前用琴、瑟、鼓、钹和锣奏乐，尽情歌舞。 6他们走到拿肯的麦场时，拉车的牛失蹄，乌撒便伸手去扶上帝的约柜。 7耶和华上帝就向乌撒发怒，因他的不敬而击杀了他。他死在了约柜旁边。 8大卫因耶和华击杀乌撒而烦恼，就称那地方为毗列斯·乌撒6:8 “毗列斯·乌撒”意思是“向乌撒发怒”。，沿用至今。
9那天，大卫惧怕耶和华，他说：“耶和华的约柜怎能运到我这里？” 10他不愿把耶和华的约柜运进大卫城，而是把它运到迦特人俄别·以东家。 11耶和华的约柜在俄别·以东家停放了三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别·以东和他全家。
12大卫听说耶和华因为约柜而赐福给俄别·以东全家及其一切所有，就满心欢喜地去把上帝的约柜从俄别·以东家接进大卫城。 13这一次，抬耶和华约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献上公牛和肥犊为祭。 14大卫穿着细麻布的以弗得在耶和华面前尽情跳舞。 15大卫和全体以色列人在欢呼声和号角声中把耶和华的约柜迎进大卫城。
16耶和华的约柜进大卫城的时候，扫罗的女儿米甲从窗户看见大卫在耶和华面前又跳又舞，心里就轻视他。 17他们把耶和华的约柜抬来，安放在大卫准备好的帐篷里。大卫在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭， 18然后奉万军之耶和华的名给民众祝福， 19还分给所有以色列人，不论男女，每人一个饼、一块肉和一个葡萄饼。众人就各自回家去了。
20大卫回到家为自己的家人祝福，米甲出来迎接他，说：“今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像个粗俗之人，在臣仆和婢女面前露体！” 21大卫对她说：“我是在耶和华面前跳舞。祂不用你父亲和你父亲家里的人，而是选立我来治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前欢庆。 22我要让自己更卑微，自视低贱，但你说的那些婢女会尊重我。”
23扫罗的女儿米甲终生都没有生育。

6¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.6.6 Nachon: also called Chidon6.6 shook it: or, stumbled 7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.6.7 error: or, rashness 8And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez-uzzah to this day.6.8 made: Heb. broken6.8 Perez-uzzah: that is, the breach of Uzzah 9And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? 10So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 11And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.
12¶ And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness. 13And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 14And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 15So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 16And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
17¶ And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.6.17 pitched: Heb. stretched 18And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. 19And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
20¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!6.20 shamelessly: or, openly 21And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. 22And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.6.22 of the…: or, of the handmaids of my servants 23Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
