Победы Довуда
(2 Цар. 8:1-14)
1Некоторое время спустя Довуд разбил филистимлян, покорил их и захватил город Гат с окрестными поселениями из рук филистимлян.
2Ещё Довуд разбил моавитян. Так моавитяне покорились Довуду и стали платить ему дань.
3Ещё Довуд разбил Ададезера, царя Цовы, нанося ему поражение до самого Хамата, когда тот шёл утвердить свою власть у реки Евфрат. 4Довуд захватил тысячу его колесниц, семь тысяч всадников и двадцать тысяч пеших воинов. Он подрезал сухожилия всем колесничным коням, оставив из них лишь сотню.
5Когда на помощь Ададезеру, царю Цовы, пришли сирийцы Дамаска, Довуд поразил из них двадцать две тысячи человек. 6Он разместил войска в сирийском царстве Дамаска, и сирийцы стали его рабами и платили ему дань. Вечный давал Довуду победу, куда бы тот ни ходил.
7Довуд взял золотые щиты, которые принадлежали приближённым Ададезера, и принёс их в Иерусалим. 8А из Теваха и Куна, городов, принадлежавших Ададезеру, Довуд взял очень много бронзы, из которой Сулаймон сделал бронзовое «море»18:8 Море – большой бронзовый бассейн, находившийся во дворе храма и предназначавшийся для ритуальных омываний священнослужителей (см. 3 Цар. 7:23-26; 2 Лет. 4:6)., столбы и разную бронзовую утварь для храма.
9Когда Тоу, царь Хамата, услышал, что Довуд разбил всё войско Ададезера, царя Цовы, 10он послал к царю Довуду своего сына Иорама, чтобы приветствовать его и поздравить с победой над Ададезером, с которым тот вёл войну. Иорам привёз разные изделия из золота, серебра и бронзы.
11Царь Довуд посвятил и эти изделия Вечному вместе с серебром и золотом, которые он отнял у всех этих народов: у эдомитян, моавитян, аммонитян, филистимлян и амаликитян.
12Авишай, сын Церуи, перебил восемнадцать тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине. 13Он разместил свои войска в Эдоме, и все эдомитяне стали его рабами. Вечный давал Довуду победу, куда бы тот ни ходил.

11¶ Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. 12Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.18.12 Abishai: Heb. 13¶ And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David’s servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
