Мудрость важнее всего
1Послушайте, сыновья, наставление отца;
внимайте, чтобы обрести понимание.
2Я даю вам учение доброе;
не оставляйте моего поучения.
3И я был мальчиком в доме у моего отца,
нежным ещё4:3 Или: «нежно любимым». и единственным тогда у моей матери.
4Отец учил меня и говорил:
«Пусть твоё сердце удержит мои слова;
храни мои повеления и живи.
5Приобретай мудрость, приобретай разум;
не забывай моих слов и не отклоняйся от них.
6Не оставляй мудрости, и она защитит тебя;
люби её, и она сохранит тебя.
7Мудрость важнее всего,
поэтому приобретай мудрость.
И всем, что имеешь,
приобретай разум.
8Высоко цени её, и она возвысит тебя;
она прославит тебя, если примешь её в объятия.
9Она возложит тебе на голову прекрасный венок,
славным венцом тебя одарит».
10Слушай, сын мой, и прими моё слово,
и долгими будут годы твоей жизни.
11Я наставлю тебя на путь мудрости
и по тропам прямым тебя поведу.
12Когда ты пойдёшь, не будет стеснён твой шаг,
и когда побежишь, не споткнёшься.
13Крепко держись наставления, не оставляй его;
храни его, потому что в нём твоя жизнь.
14Не вступай на тропу нечестивых,
не ходи по пути злодеев.
15Избегай его, не иди по нему;
отвернись от него и пройди мимо.
16Ведь они не уснут, если не сделают зла;
нет им сна, если не навредят.
17Словно хлеб, они едят нечестие
и, как вино, пьют насилие4:17 Или: «Они едят хлеб, приобретённый нечестием, и пьют вино, полученное насилием»..
18Путь праведных подобен первому свету зари;
светит он всё ярче и ярче – до полного света дня.
19Но путь нечестивых подобен кромешной тьме;
они и не знают, обо что спотыкаются.
20Сын мой, будь внимателен к речи моей,
слова мои слушай прилежно.
21Не упускай их из вида,
храни их в сердце,
22ведь они – жизнь для тех, кто нашёл их,
и для всего тела – здоровье.
23Больше всего храни своё сердце,
потому что оно – источник жизни.
24Удали от уст своих лживую речь,
удержи свой язык от слов обмана.
25Пусть глаза твои глядят прямо,
пусть взгляд твой будет устремлён вперёд.
26Ходи по пути прямому4:26 Или: «Обдумывай путь свой».,
и шаг твой будет твёрдым.
27Не отклоняйся ни вправо, ни влево;
удаляй свою ногу от зла.
1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. 4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.4.9 a crown…: or, she shall compass thee with a crown of glory 10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. 11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. 12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. 13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14¶ Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. 16For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. 17For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. 18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. 19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20¶ My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.4.22 health: Heb. medicine
