1В то время, – возвещает Вечный, – кости царей и правителей Иудеи, кости священнослужителей, пророков и жителей Иерусалима будут выброшены из могил. 2Их раскидают под солнцем, луной и звёздами, которые они любили, которым служили и следовали, которые вопрошали и которым поклонялись. Их не соберут и не захоронят; они будут, как отбросы, валяться на земле. 3Куда бы Я ни изгнал всех уцелевших из этого злого народа, они смерть предпочтут жизни, – возвещает Вечный, Повелитель Сил.
Грех и наказание
4– Скажи им: Так говорит Вечный:
«Разве те, кто упал, не пытаются встать?
Разве те, кто сбился с пути, не возвращаются?
5Почему же этот народ отвернулся от Меня?
Почему же Иерусалим всегда отворачивается от Меня?
Они крепко держатся за ложь
и отказываются вернуться.
6Я внимал и слушал,
но они не говорят правды.
Никто не кается в беззаконии,
говоря: „Что я сделал?“
Каждый держится своего пути,
точно конь, мчащийся на битву.
7Даже аист в небе
знает свои сроки,
и горлица, и ласточка, и журавль
знают время перелёта.
Но Мой народ не знает
Закона Вечного.
8Как вы можете говорить: „Мы мудры,
и Закон Вечного у нас“,
когда на самом деле в ложь превращает его
лживое перо писарей?
9Опозорятся мудрецы,
ужаснутся и запутаются в силках.
Если они отвергли слово Вечного,
то в чём же их мудрость?
10За это Я отдам их жён другим
и их поля – новым владельцам.
Все они, от малого до великого,
жаждут наживы;
от пророка и до священнослужителя –
все поступают лживо.
11Лечат серьёзную рану Моего народа так,
как будто это простая царапина.
„Мир, мир“, – говорят,
а мира нет.
12Не стыдно ли им за их мерзости?
Нет, им ни капли не стыдно,
и они не краснеют.
За это падут они среди павших,
будут повержены, когда Я накажу их, –
говорит Вечный. –
13Я уничтожу их урожай, –
возвещает Вечный. –
Ни гроздьев не останется на лозе,
ни плодов – на инжире,
и увянут их листья.
То, что Я дал им,
будет у них отобрано».
14Что же мы сидим?
Собирайтесь!
Побежим в укреплённые города;
там и погибнем!
Вечный, наш Бог, обрёк нас на погибель
и поит нас водой отравленной,
потому что мы согрешили против Него.
15Ждём мы мира,
а ничего доброго нет;
ждём времени исцеления,
а вместо этого – ужасы.
16Уже в Доне слышен
храп вражьих коней;
от ржания их жеребцов
содрогается земля.
Враг пришёл разрушить
страну и всё, что в ней есть,
город и всех, кто живёт в нём.
17– Вот Я насылаю на вас гадюк,
ядовитых змей, против которых нет заклинаний,
и они будут вас жалить, –
возвещает Вечный.
18Нет мне утешения в скорби,
изнемогает сердце моё.
19Слышен вопль моего народа
из далёкой страны:
«Неужели Вечный не на Сионе?
Неужели там больше нет Царя?»
– Зачем они досаждали Мне своими идолами,
ничтожными, чужеземными? – говорит Вечный.
20– Жатва прошла,
кончилось лето,
а мы всё не спасены.
21Из-за страданий моего народа я страдаю;
я скорблю, и объял меня ужас.
22Неужели нет бальзама в Галааде?8:22 Галаад славился своим целебным бальзамом из смолы мастикового дерева.
Неужели там нет врача?
Так почему же не исцеляются
раны моего народа?
1At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves: 2And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth. 3And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.
4¶ Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? 5Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 6I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. 7Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD. 8How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us?
