Пророчество о Моаве
1О Моаве.
Так говорит Вечный, Повелитель Сил, Бог Исроила:
– Горе Нево – он будет опустошён!
Кириатаим будет опозорен и захвачен;
крепость48:1 Или: «Мизгав». будет опозорена и разрушена.
2Минует слава Моава;
в Хешбоне замышляют против него зло:
«Идём, покончим с этим народом».
И ты, Мадмен, замолкнешь48:2 На языке оригинала наблюдаются игры слов: название Хешбон и глагол «замышлять» (хашав); название Мадмен и глагол «замолкнуть» (дамам).;
меч будет преследовать тебя.
3Слышны крики из Хоронаима,
крики великого опустошения и разрушения.
4Погибнет Моав,
заплачут его малые дети.
5Поднимаются жители на Лухит
и на ходу горько плачут;
на дороге, ведущей в Хоронаим,
слышен скорбный плач о разорении.
6Бегите! Спасайте свои жизни!
Будьте как одинокий можжевельник в пустыне.
7За то, что вы надеялись на свои дела и богатства,
вас тоже захватят.
В плен отправится Хемош48:7 Хемош – божество из пантеона моавитян, в жертвы которому приносились люди.
со своими священнослужителями и вождями.
8Губитель придёт в каждый город –
ни один город не спасётся.
Долина погибнет,
равнина придёт в запустение,
как и сказал Вечный.
9Дайте Моаву крылья,
чтобы он мог улететь48:9 Или: «Посыпьте Моав солью, чтобы он был опустошён»..
Его города опустеют,
останутся без горожан.
10Проклят тот, кто небрежен, исполняя дело Вечного!
Проклят тот, кто удерживает меч от кровопролития!
11Моав от юности пребывал в покое,
и в плен его не уводили.
Он – как вино над осадком,
которое не переливали из сосуда в сосуд,
так что вкус у него, как и прежде,
и запах не изменился48:11 Ср. Соф. 1:12 со сноской..
12Но наступают дни, –
возвещает Вечный, –
когда Я пошлю к нему виноделов,
чтобы перелить его,
опустошить его сосуды
и разбить его кувшины вдребезги.
13Моав тогда постыдится Хемоша,
как Исроил постыдился Вефиля,
своей надежды48:13 Исроильский царь Иеровоам I приказал отлить двух золотых тельцов и одного из них поставил в Вефиле. Он возвёл поклонение тельцам в ранг национальной религии (см. 3 Цар. 12:25-33)..
14Как же вы можете говорить: «Мы храбрецы,
мы отважные в битве воины»?
15Моав будет разрушен, его города будут взяты;
его лучшие юноши пойдут на бойню, –
говорит Царь, Чьё имя Вечный, Повелитель Сил. –
16Падение Моава близко;
день его бедствия спешит.
17Плачьте о нём, все его соседи,
все, кто знал его славу,
говорите: «Как сломан могучий скипетр,
как сломан жезл прославленный!»
18Сойдите с почётного места
и сядьте на иссохшую землю,
жители Дивона,
потому что губитель Моава
двинется на вас
и разрушит ваши укреплённые города.
19Встаньте у дороги и смотрите,
живущие в Ароере.
Расспрашивайте беженца и уцелевшую,
спрашивайте: «Что случилось?»
20Моав обесславлен, ведь он сломлен;
рыдайте и плачьте!
Расскажите вдоль побережий Арнона,
что разрушен Моав.
21Суд пришёл на города в плоскогорье:
на Холон, Иахац и Мефаат,
22на Дивон, Нево и Бет-Дивлатаим,
23на Кириатаим, Бет-Гамул и Бет-Меон,
24на Кериот и Боцру,
на все дальние и ближние города Моава.
25Рог Моава отрублен,
и его рука48:25 Рог и рука были символами могущества, власти и силы. сломана, –
возвещает Вечный. –
26Напоите его допьяна,
потому что он возносился перед Вечным.
Пусть он вываляется в своей блевотине,
пусть он станет посмешищем.
27Разве не посмешищем был у тебя Исроил?
Разве пойман он был с ворами,
что ты презрительно качал головой
каждый раз, когда говорил о нём?
28Оставьте города и селитесь в скалах,
жители Моава.
Будьте как голуби, что гнездятся
на краях расщелин.
29– Слышали мы о гордости Моава,
о его чрезмерной гордости и тщеславии,
о его гордости и надменности,
о его заносчивом сердце.
30– Знаю Я его наглость, –
возвещает Вечный, –
но пуста его похвальба,
и дела его ничего не стоят.
31Поэтому плачу Я о Моаве,
рыдаю обо всём Моаве,
скорблю о жителях Кир-Харесета.
32О виноградники Сивмы,
Я плачу о вас, как я плакал о городе Иазере.
Ваши лозы тянулись к Мёртвому морю,
достигали Иазера48:32 Букв.: «достигали моря Иазер»..
Разрушитель набросился на летние плоды,
на спелый виноград.
33Веселье и радость ушли
с плодородной земли Моава.
Иссякло вино в давильнях;
никто не топчет в них виноград с радостным криком.
Хотя и стоит крик,
но не радостный он.
34От Хешбона до Элеале раздаются рыдания;
крики слышны до самого Иахаца,
от Цоара до Хоронаима и Эглат-Шлешии,
ведь даже воды реки Нимрим пересохнут.
35Я истреблю в Моаве тех,
кто приносит жертвы в капищах на возвышенностях
и возжигает благовония своим богам, –
возвещает Вечный. –
36Поэтому моё сердце плачет о Моаве, как свирель,
плачет, как свирель, о жителях Кир-Харесета.
Богатство, которое они скопили, погибло.
37В знак скорби все головы острижены,
все бороды сбриты;
на всех руках порезы,
и одеты они в рубище.
38На всех крышах Моава
и на площадях все рыдают,
потому что Я разбил Моав,
как сосуд, который никому не нужен, –
возвещает Вечный. –
39Как он раскололся! Как они рыдают!
Как позорно Моав показал спину!
Моав стал посмешищем
и ужасом для всех соседей.
40Так говорит Вечный:
– Орёл налетит на свою добычу,
простирая свои крылья над Моавом.
41Кериот будет взят48:41 Или: «Города будут взяты».,
крепости будут захвачены.
В тот день сердца воинов Моава
затрепещут, словно сердце роженицы.
42Не будет больше такого народа, как Моав,
потому что он возносился перед Вечным.
43Ужас, яма и западня ждут тебя,
народ Моава, –
возвещает Вечный. –
44Всякий, кто побежит от ужаса,
упадёт в яму;
всякий, выбравшийся из ямы,
угодит в западню.
Я нашлю эти беды на Моав
в год его наказания, –
возвещает Вечный. –
45В тени Хешбона
замерли изнурённые беженцы:
полыхает огонь из Хешбона,
пышет пламя из дома Сигонова,
обжигает лоб Моаву,
темя народу мятежному.
46Горе тебе, Моав!
Погиб народ Хемоша48:46 Хемош – божество из пантеона моавитян, в жертвы которому приносились люди.;
твои сыновья взяты в плен,
твои дочери – в неволе48:45-46 См. Чис. 21:28-29; Втор. 2:26-30..
47Но в будущем Я верну Моаву благополучие, –
возвещает Вечный.
Здесь кончается приговор Моаву.

7¶ For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together. 8And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken. 9Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein. 10Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.48.10 deceitfully: or, negligently
11¶ Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.48.11 remained: Heb. stood 12Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles. 13And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.
14¶ How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war? 15Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.48.15 his…: Heb. the choice of 16The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast. 17All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod! 18Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds. 19O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?48.19 inhabitant: Heb. inhabitress 20Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled, 21And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath, 22And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim, 23And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon, 24And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near. 25The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.
26¶ Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision. 27For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.48.27 skippedst…: or, movedst thyself 28O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth. 29We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart. 30I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.48.30 his lies…: or, those on whom he stayeth (Heb. his bars) do not right 31Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres. 32O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage. 33And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting. 34From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.48.34 desolate: Heb. desolations 35Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods. 36Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished. 37For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.48.37 clipped: Heb. diminished 38There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD. 39They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.48.39 back: Heb. neck 40For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab. 41Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men’s hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.48.41 Kerioth: or, The cities 42And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD. 43Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD. 44He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD. 45They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.48.45 tumultuous…: Heb. children of noise 46Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.48.46 captives, and: Heb. in captivity, etc
47¶ Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
