Вторая речь Элиху
1Затем Элиху продолжал:
2– Послушайте, мудрые, мою речь;
внимайте мне, умные люди.
3Ведь ухо разбирает слова,
как язык различает вкус пищи.
4Так давайте решим, где правда,
и рассудим, что есть добро.
5Аюб сказал: «Я невинен,
но лишил меня Всевышний правосудия.
6И хоть я прав,
меня считают лжецом.
Хоть я без греха,
моя рана от Его стрелы неисцелима».
7Есть ли ещё такой человек, как Аюб,
кто кощунство, как воду, пьёт?
8Он дружит с нечестивыми
и общается со злодеями.
9Ведь он говорит: «Нет выгоды человеку,
который старается угодить Всевышнему».
10Имеющие разум, послушайте меня!
Не может быть у Всевышнего неправды,
чужд Всемогущий злу.
11Воздаёт он смертному по делам
и обходится с ним по его заслугам.
12Истинно, Всевышний не делает зла,
Всемогущий не извращает суд.
13Кто отдал землю Ему во власть?
Кто поставил Его над всем миром?
14Если бы Он решил забрать Свой дух
и отозвал бы Своё дыхание,
15то погибла бы разом любая плоть,
и возвратился бы смертный во прах.
16Имеешь ты разум, так слушай это;
внимай моей речи.
17Неужели Тот, Кто управляет миром, ненавидит правосудие?
Обвинишь ли ты Справедливого и Могучего,
18Который говорит царю: «Негодяй!» –
и вельможам: «Вы беззаконники!»,
19Который вождям не выказывает пристрастий
и не ставит богатого выше бедного,
ведь все они – творение Его рук?
20Они умирают мгновенно, в полночь;
мечутся люди и угасают;
сильных сражают не руки смертных.
21Он смотрит на пути людей
и видит каждый их шаг.
22Нет ни мрака, ни тьмы кромешной,
где могли бы спрятаться беззаконники.
23Ведь Всевышнему нет нужды назначать время человеку,
чтобы предстать на суд перед Ним.
24Без допроса сокрушает Он сильных
и других на их место ставит.
25Истинно, ведая их дела,
низлагает их ночью – и им конец.
26На глазах у людей
Он карает их за грехи,
27ведь они от Него отступили,
не познали Его путей.
28И дошёл до него крик бедных,
Он услышал крик страдальцев.
29Если Он промолчит, кто Его укорит?
Если скроет Он лицо Своё, кто сможет Его увидеть?
Он и над народом, и над человеком,
30чтобы не царствовали безбожники,
став сетью для народа.
31Лучше скажи Всевышнему:
«Я пострадал, но больше не согрешу.
32Научи меня, если что-то не знаю;
если я согрешил, то впредь зарекусь».
33Но должен ли Всевышний тебя удостоить награды,
когда ты отказываешься раскаяться?
Ты должен решать, а не я.
Говори же, что знаешь.
34Люди разумные скажут мне,
мудрецы, кто услышит меня:
35«От невежества говорит Аюб,
нет в его речи разума».
36О, когда бы до конца был испытан Аюб
за ответы, достойные беззаконных!
37К греху своему приложил он бунт;
насмехаясь над нами, он бьёт в ладоши
и слова против Всевышнего множит.
1Furthermore Elihu answered and said, 2Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge. 3For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.34.3 mouth: Heb. palate 4Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good. 5For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment. 6Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.34.6 my wound: Heb. mine arrow 7What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water? 8Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men. 9For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
10Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.34.10 men…: Heb. men of heart 11For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. 12Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment. 13Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?34.13 the whole: Heb. all of it? 14If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;34.14 man: Heb. him 15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
16If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words. 17Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?34.17 govern: Heb. bind? 18Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly? 19How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands. 20In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.34.20 the mighty…: Heb. they shall take away the mighty 21For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. 22There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. 23For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.34.23 enter: Heb. go 24He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.34.24 number: Heb. searching out 25Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.34.25 destroyed: Heb. crushed 26He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;34.26 open…: Heb. place of beholders 27Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:34.27 him: Heb. after him 28So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted. 29When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only: 30That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
31Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more: 32That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more. 33Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.34.33 according…: Heb. from with thee? 34Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.34.34 of…: Heb. of heart 35Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom. 36My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.34.36 My…: or, My father, let Job be tried 37For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
