Жизнь, угодная Аллаху
1И наконец, братья, когда вы уже научились от нас жить так, чтобы жизнь ваша была угодна Аллаху, – а вы так и живёте, – мы просим и умоляем вас ради Повелителя Исы: преуспевайте в этом ещё больше. 2Вы помните, какие указания от Повелителя Исы мы вам дали.
3Аллах хочет, чтобы вы были святы, чтобы вы воздерживались от разврата, 4чтобы каждый из вас умел властвовать над своим телом4:4 Букв.: «соблюдать свой сосуд». со святостью и достоинством, 5а не шёл на поводу своих низменных страстей, как это делают язычники, не знающие Аллаха. 6Никто пусть не причиняет зла своему брату и не обманывает его, входя к его жене4:6 Букв.: «Никто пусть не преступает границ и не ищет выгоды за счёт своего брата в этом деле».. За все такие грехи человек понесёт наказание от Повелителя, и мы вас об этом предупреждали и раньше. 7Ведь Аллах не призвал нас к нечистоте, а призвал к святой жизни. 8И следовательно, кто отвергает этот призыв, тот отвергает не человека, а Аллаха, Который даёт вам Своего Святого Духа.
9Думаю, что нам нет нужды писать вам о любви к братьям, ведь вы сами были научены Аллахом любить друг друга. 10Мы знаем, что вы любите всех братьев по всей Македонии. Хотим лишь, чтобы вы преуспевали в любви ещё больше.
11Старайтесь жить порядочно4:11 Или: «мирно»., занимаясь каждый своим делом и работая своими руками, как мы вам уже наказывали раньше, 12чтобы ваша жизнь вызывала уважение неверующих, и чтобы вам ни в чём не иметь нужды.
О пришествии Повелителя
13Братья! Мы не хотим оставить вас в незнании относительно тех, кто умер, чтобы вы не скорбели о них, как скорбят другие, у которых нет надежды. 14Мы верим, что Иса умер и что Он воскрес, и поэтому верим, что вместе с Исой Аллах приведёт и тех, кто умер с верой в Него. 15Мы теперь говорим вам со слов Повелителя, что мы, которые будем ещё в живых к тому времени, когда Он придёт, нисколько не опередим тех, кто к этому моменту уже умрёт. 16Потому что Повелитель Сам придёт с небес (о чём возвестят громкий клич, голос архангела4:16 Архангел – один из высших ангельских чинов. и труба Аллаха), и умершие с верой в аль-Масиха воскреснут первыми. 17Потом и мы, оставшиеся в живых, будем вместе с ними подняты на облаках, чтобы встретить Повелителя в воздухе, и уже всегда с той поры будем с Ним. 18Поэтому ободряйте друг друга этими словами.
Living in a Way That Pleases God
1Now I want to talk about some other matters, brothers and sisters. We taught you how to live in a way that pleases God. In fact, that is how you are living. In the name of the Lord Jesus we ask and beg you to do it more and more. 2You know the directions we gave you. They were given by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3God wants you to be made holy. He wants you to stay away from sexual sins. 4He wants all of you to learn to control your own bodies. You must live in a way that is holy. You must live with honor. 5Don’t desire to commit sexual sins like people who don’t know God. 6None of you should sin against your brother or sister by doing that. You should not take advantage of your brother or sister. The Lord will punish everyone who commits these kinds of sins. We have already told you and warned you about this. 7That’s because God chose us to live pure lives. He wants us to be holy. 8Suppose someone refuses to accept our teaching. They are not turning their back on us. They are turning their back on God. This same God gives you his Holy Spirit.
9We don’t need to write to you about your love for one another. God himself has taught you to love one another. 10In fact, you do love all God’s family all around Macedonia. Brothers and sisters, we are asking you to love one another more and more. 11And do everything you can to live a quiet life. You should mind your own business. And work with your hands, just as we told you to. 12Then unbelievers will have respect for your everyday life. And you won’t have to depend on anyone.
What Happens to Believers Who Have Died
13Brothers and sisters, we want you to know what happens to those who die. We don’t want you to mourn, as other people do. They mourn because they don’t have any hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again. When he returns, many who believe in him will have died already. We believe that God will bring them back with Jesus. 15This agrees with what the Lord has said. When the Lord comes, many of us will still be alive. We tell you that we will certainly not go up before those who have died. 16The Lord himself will come down from heaven. We will hear a loud command. We will hear the voice of the leader of the angels. We will hear a blast from God’s trumpet. Many who believe in Christ will have died already. They will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them. We will be taken up in the clouds. We will meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with him forever. 18So encourage one another with these words of comfort.
