(3 Цар. 14:25-28)
1После того как Реховоам утвердил свою власть и стал силён, он вместе со всем Исраилом12:1 То есть Иудея; так же во многих местах данной книги. Автор Летописей считает граждан Иудеи истинным Исраилом, народом Всевышнего. См. вступление к книге «Первая летопись». оставил Закон Вечного. 2Они нарушили верность Вечному, и вот Сусаким12:2 Сусаким – фараон Шешонк I, основатель XXII (ливийской) династии, правил с 950 по 929 гг. до н. э., царь Египта, на пятом году правления Реховоама напал на Иерусалим. 3С тысячью и двумя сотнями колесниц, шестьюдесятью тысячами всадников и бесчисленным множеством пеших воинов из ливийцев, сукхитов и эфиопов, которые пришли с ним из Египта, 4он завладел всеми укреплёнными городами Иудеи и подошёл к самому Иерусалиму. 5Пророк Шемая пришёл к Реховоаму и к вождям Иудеи, которые собрались в Иерусалиме из-за страха перед Сусакимом, и сказал им:
– Так говорит Вечный: Вы оставили Меня, и Я оставлю вас и отдам в руки Сусакиму.
6Вожди Исраила и царь смирились и сказали:
– Вечный праведен.
7Когда Вечный увидел, что они смирились, тогда к Шемае было слово Вечного:
– Так как они смирились, Я не истреблю их и вскоре спасу. Мой гнев не изольётся на Иерусалим через Сусакима. 8Но им придётся покориться ему, чтобы они познали разницу между служением Мне и служением царям чужих земель.
9Когда Сусаким, царь Египта, пришёл в Иерусалим, он унёс сокровища храма Вечного и сокровища царского дворца. Он забрал всё, включая и золотые щиты, которые сделал Сулейман. 10Царь Реховоам сделал вместо них щиты из бронзы и вверил их начальникам стражи, что охраняла вход в царский дворец. 11Всякий раз, когда царь шёл в храм Вечного, стража со щитами шла с ним, а после этого возвращала их в комнату стражи.
12Так как Реховоам смирил себя, гнев Вечного на него прекратился и не погубил его окончательно. Да и в Иудее было что-то доброе.
Конец правления Реховоама
(3 Цар. 14:21-24, 29-31)
13Царь Реховоам утвердился в Иерусалиме и царствовал. Ему был сорок один год, когда он стал царём, и правил он семнадцать лет в Иерусалиме, городе, который Вечный избрал среди всех родов Исраила для пребывания там. Мать Реховоама звали Наама, она была аммонитянкой. 14Он творил зло, потому что не отдал своего сердца тому, чтобы искать Вечного.
15События царствования Реховоама, от первых до последних, описаны в «Записях пророка Шемаи» и в «Записях провидца Иддо», вошедших в родословия. Между Реховоамом и Иеровоамом всё время шла война. 16Реховоам упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Городе Давуда. И царём вместо него стал его сын Авия.
1And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. 2And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD, 3With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians. 4And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5¶ Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 6Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous. 7And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.12.7 some: or, a little while 8Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries. 9So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made. 10Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house. 11And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber. 12And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.12.12 and also…: or, and yet in Judah there were good things
13¶ So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. 14And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.12.14 prepared: or, fixed 15Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies?
