1Я видел, как Ягнёнок открыл первую из семи печатей, и затем услышал, как одно из четырёх живых существ сказало громоподобным голосом:
– Подойди!
2Я посмотрел и увидел белого коня. На нём сидел вооружённый луком всадник, которому был дан венец. Он выехал как победитель, и чтобы победить6:2 Ср. Зак. 1:8-17; 6:1-8..
3Когда Ягнёнок снял вторую печать, я услышал, как второе живое существо сказало:
– Подойди!
4И вышел другой конь, огненно-рыжий. На нём сидел вооружённый длинным мечом всадник, которому была дана власть лишить землю мира, чтобы люди на ней убивали друг друга.
5Когда Ягнёнок снял третью печать, я услышал как третье живое существо сказало:
– Подойди!
Я увидел вороного коня. Сидящий на нём всадник держал в руке весы. 6И я услышал со стороны четырёх живых существ голос, говорящий:
– Полкилограмма6:6 Букв.: «хиникс», т. е. примерно 1 л (600 г муки). пшеничной муки – за заработок целого дня6:6 Букв.: «за динарий». Динарий – римская монета, примерно равная дневному заработку наёмного работника (см. Мат. 20:2)., и полтора килограмма6:6 Букв.: «три хиникса». ячменной муки – за заработок целого дня.
А всаднику:
– Неся свой суд, масла и вина не трогай!
7Когда Ягнёнок снял четвёртую печать, я услышал голос четвёртого существа. Оно сказало:
– Подойди!
8Я увидел мертвенно-бледного коня. Его всадника звали Смерть, а за ним следовал ад6:8 Букв.: «мир мёртвых».. Им была дана власть над четвёртой частью земли, чтобы губить людей мечом, голодом, эпидемиями и дикими зверями.
9Когда Ягнёнок снял пятую печать, я увидел у подножия жертвенника души тех, кто был убит за слово Всевышнего и за своё свидетельство. 10Они громко закричали:
– До каких пор, святой и истинный Владыка, Ты не будешь судить и мстить живущим на земле за нашу кровь?
11Каждому из них была дана белая одежда, и им было сказано подождать ещё некоторое время, пока число их сотрудников и братьев, которые будут убиты так же, как и они, не достигнет своей полноты.
12Потом я увидел, как Ягнёнок снял шестую печать. Тогда вдруг произошло сильное землетрясение6:12 Ср. Езек. 38:19-20; Агг. 2:6., и солнце стало чёрным, как траурное одеяние, а луна стала красной, как кровь6:12 См. Ис. 13:10; Езек. 32:7-8; Иоиль 2:10; 3:15.. 13Небесные звёзды упали на землю, как незрелый инжир падает с деревьев от сильного порыва ветра6:13 См. Мк. 13:24-26.. 14Небо свернулось, как свиток6:13-14 См. Ис. 34:4., и все горы и острова были сдвинуты со своих мест. 15Цари земли, высокопоставленные чиновники, полководцы, богатые и власть имущие, рабы и свободные – все попрятались в пещерах и расщелинах гор6:15 См. Ис. 2:10..
16– Упадите на нас, – умоляли они горы и скалы, – спрячьте нас6:16 См. Ос. 10:8. от лица Сидящего на троне и от гнева Ягнёнка! 17Наступил великий день Их гнева, и кто может устоять?
The Seals
1I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds6:6 Or about 1 kilogram of wheat for a day’s wages,6:6 Greek a denarius and six pounds6:6 Or about 3 kilograms of barley for a day’s wages,6:6 Greek a denarius and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
7When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,6:11 The Greek word for brothers and sisters (adelphoi) refers here to believers, both men and women, as part of God’s family; also in 12:10; 19:10. were killed just as they had been.
12I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
15Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us6:16 See Hosea 10:8. from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17For the great day of their6:17 Some manuscripts his wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
