Предостережение против нарушения супружеской верности
1Сын мой, будь внимателен к моей мудрости,
внимай моему разуму прилежно,
2чтобы тебе сохранить рассудительность,
и чтобы речь твоя всегда выказывала знание.
3Уста чужой жены сочатся мёдом,
и речь её – мягче масла;
4но под конец она горька, как полынь,
остра, как меч обоюдоострый.
5Нисходят ноги её к смерти,
её шаги ведут в мир мёртвых.
6О дороге жизни она и не думает;
кривы её тропы, а она и не знает.
7Итак, сыновья, послушайте меня;
не отклоняйтесь от того, что я говорю.
8Держись от неё подальше,
к дверям её дома не приближайся,
9чтобы достатка своего не отдать другим
и заработка долгих лет – безжалостным,
10чтобы богатством твоим не насыщались чужие
и твой труд не обогатил чужого дома.
11Не то под конец жизни ты будешь стонать,
когда плоть и тело твои будут истощены.
12Будешь говорить: «Зачем я ненавидел наставление?
Почему моё сердце презирало упрёк?
13Я не слушался учителей
и наставникам не внимал.
14А теперь я на грани бедствия
у всего народа на глазах».
15Пей воду из своего водоёма,
текущую воду из своего колодца.
16Зачем твоим родникам растекаться по улицам
и потокам вод твоих – по площадям?
17Пусть они будут только твоими,
с чужими не делись.
18Пусть источник твой будет благословен5:15-18 Здесь в поэтических образах дан призыв удовлетворять свои чувственные желания и потребности только со своей женой..
Радуйся жене твоей юности,
19прекрасной лани, изящной серне.
Пусть груди её утоляют твоё желание во всякое время,
пусть всегда ты будешь опьянён её любовью.
20Зачем, сын мой, опьяняться тебе другой
и обнимать стан чужой жены?
21Ведь пути человека открыты Вечному,
и Он наблюдает за всеми его тропами.
22Грехи нечестивого ловят его в западню;
крепко держат его узы собственного греха.
23Гибнет он, не получив наставления,
и сбивается с пути по великой своей глупости.
1My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
3¶ For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:5.3 mouth: Heb. palate 4But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. 5Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. 6Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. 7Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. 8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: 9Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: 10Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;5.10 thy wealth: Heb. thy strength 11And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, 12And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 13And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! 14I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15¶ Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. 16Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. 17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. 18Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.5.19 satisfy…: Heb. water thee5.19 be thou…: Heb. err thou always in her love 20And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? 21For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
22¶ His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.5.22 sins: Heb. sin 23He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
