Dans le ciel et sur la terre
1Louez l’Eternel,
louez l’Eternel du haut des cieux !
Louez-le, dans les hauteurs !
2Louez-le, vous tous ses anges !
Louez-le, vous toutes ses armées !
3Louez-le, soleil et lune !
Oui, louez-le tous, ╵astres lumineux !
4Louez-le, ô cieux des cieux,
vous aussi, nuages chargés d’eau ╵là-haut dans le ciel148.4 Voir Gn 1.6-8. !
5Que tous ces êtres louent l’Eternel !
Car il a donné ses ordres ╵et ils ont été créés.
6Il les a tous établis ╵pour toujours,
il leur a fixé ╵des lois immuables.
7Louez l’Eternel ╵vous qui êtes sur la terre,
vous, monstres marins, ╵et vous tous, abîmes,
8foudre, grêle, neige, brume,
vents impétueux ╵qui exécutez ses ordres !
9Vous, montagnes et collines,
arbres fruitiers, tous les cèdres,
10animaux sauvages ╵et tout le bétail,
tout ce qui rampe ou qui vole,
11rois du monde et tous les peuples,
les chefs et tous les dirigeants de la terre,
12jeunes gens et jeunes filles,
vieillards et enfants,
13qu’ils louent l’Eternel !
Car lui seul est admirable,
et sa majesté domine ╵la terre et le ciel.

C’est un sujet de louange ╵pour tous ceux qui lui sont attachés,
pour tous les Israélites, ╵peuple qui vit près de lui.
