Ang Awit sa Pagdayeg sa Ginoo
1Mapailubon akong naghulat sa Ginoo,
ug gidungog niya ang akong pagpangayo ug tabang.
2Gihaw-as niya ako gikan sa makuyaw ug lapokon nga bangag,
ug gipahimutang sa dakong bato aron dili ako maunsa.
3Gitudloan niya ako ug bag-ong awit,
awit sa pagdayeg kaniya nga atong Dios.
Daghang mga tawo ang makakita niini,
ug motahod gayod sila ug mosalig sa Ginoo.
4Bulahan ang tawo nga nagasalig sa Ginoo,
ug dili modangop sa mga garboso nga nagasunod sa bakak.40:4 bakak: o, bakakon nga mga dios-dios.
5Ginoo nga akong Dios, walay sama kanimo.
Daghang katingalahang mga butang ang imong gihimo,
ug daghan ang imong mga plano alang kanamo.
Dili ko masaysay kining tanan kay labihan kini kadaghan.
6Wala ka malipay sa nagkalain-laing matang sa mga halad,
sama sa halad nga sinunog ug halad sa paghinlo.
Gihimo mo hinuon ako nga matinumanon kanimo.
7Busa miingon ako,
“Ania ako, andam ako nga motuman sa imong mga sugo nga nasulat sa Kasulatan.
8O Dios ko, ikalipay ko ang pagtuman sa imong kabubut-on.
Ang imong kasugoan gitipigan ko sulod sa akong kasingkasing.”
9Gisugilon ko ang imong pagkamatarong sa panagtigom sa imong mga katawhan.
Nahibalo ka, Ginoo, nga dili ako mohunong sa pagsugilon niini.
10Wala ko tagoi sa akong kaugalingon ang mahitungod sa imong pagkamatarong.
Isugilon ko nga ikaw kasaligan ug makaluwas.
Wala ako magpakahilom mahitungod sa imong gugma ug kamatuoran40:10 kamatuoran: o, pagkamatinud-anon. Mao usab sa bersikulo 11. diha sa mga panagtigom sa imong katawhan.
11Ginoo, ayaw ihikaw ang imong kalooy kanako.
Hinaut pa nga ang imong gugma ug kamatuoran motipig kanako sa kanunay.
12Kay gilibotan ako sa mga kalisod nga dili maihap.
Daw sa matabonan na ako sa akong mga sala, ug dili ako makakita.
Mas daghan pa ang akong mga sala kaysa akong buhok.
Ug tungod niini, nawad-an ako ug kaisog.
13Ginoo, luwasa intawon ako.
Tabangi dayon ako.
14Hinaut unta nga ang mga nagatinguha sa pagpatay kanako maulawan ug mataranta. Hinaut unta nga ang mga nagahandom sa akong kalaglagan mangikyas ug maulawan
15Hinaut unta nga ang mga nagabiaybiay kanako matingala pag-ayo kay naulawan sila.
16Apan hinaut nga ang tanang nagadangop kanimo maglipay gayod tungod kanimo.
Hinaut nga ang mga nangandoy sa kaluwasan nga gikan kanimo moingon kanunay,
“Dalaygon ang Ginoo.”
17Kabos ako ug timawa.
Hinaut pa nga nagahunahuna ka kanako, Ginoo.
Ikaw ang akong magtatabang ug manluluwas.
O Dios ko, tabangi dayon ako.

1I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
4Blessed is the one
who trusts in the Lord,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.40:4 Or to lies
5Many, Lord my God,
are the wonders you have done,
the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
they would be too many to declare.
6Sacrifice and offering you did not desire –
but my ears you have opened40:6 Hebrew; some Septuagint manuscripts but a body you have prepared for me –
burnt offerings and sin offerings40:6 Or purification offerings you did not require.
7Then I said, ‘Here I am, I have come –
it is written about me in the scroll.40:7 Or come / with the scroll written for me
8I desire to do your will, my God;
your law is within my heart.’
9I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips, Lord,
as you know.
10I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help.
I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness
from the great assembly.
11Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
12For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.
13Be pleased to save me, Lord;
come quickly, Lord, to help me.
14May all who want to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.
15May those who say to me, ‘Aha! Aha!’
be appalled at their own shame.
16But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
‘The Lord is great!’
17But as for me, I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay.
