Giayo ni Jesus ang Tawo nga Gigamhan sa Daotang Espiritu
(Mat. 8:28-34; Luc. 8:26-39)
1Human niadto nakaabot sila sa tabok sa Linaw sa Galilea, sa dapit sa mga Gerasenhon,5:1 Gerasenhon: Sa uban nga mga kopya sa Griego, Gadarenhon o, Gergesenhon. 2Sa dihang nakakanaog na si Jesus sa sakayan, gisugat siya sa usa ka tawo nga migawas gikan sa langub nga lubnganan. Kini nga tawo gigamhan sa daotang espiritu 3ug didto na nagapuyo sa mga langub nga lubnganan. Wala gayoy tawo nga makagapos kaniya, bisan makakadena kaniya. 4Daghan na nga higayon nga gikadenahan ang iyang mga tiil ug mga kamot, apan gipamugto lang niya kini. Wala gayoy makapugong kaniya. 5Adlaw ug gabii, didto sa mga langub nga lubnganan o kaha sa mga bukid, nagsige siya ug singgit ug gisamad-samaran niyag bato ang iyang lawas.
6Sa pagkakita niya kang Jesus didto sa layo, midagan siya ngadto kaniya ug miluhod. 7-8Miingon si Jesus sa daotang espiritu nga nagpuyo niadtong tawo, “Ikaw nga daotang espiritu, gawas gikan niining tawo!” Misinggit ang tawo, “Jesus, Anak sa Dios nga labaw sa tanan, unsay imong labot kanako? Nagapakilooy ako kanimo sa ngalan sa Dios nga dili mo ako silotan.” 9Gipangutana dayon siya ni Jesus, “Unsay imong ngalan?” Mitubag siya, “Ang akong ngalan si Panon tungod kay daghan kami.” 10Ug nagsige siyag pakilooy kang Jesus nga dili lang sila papahawaon niadtong dapita.
11Duol didto, naay daghang mga baboy nga nangungad sa bakilid. 12Nagpakilooy kang Jesus ang mga daotang espiritu nga tugotan sila nga mosulod niadtong mga baboy. 13Busa gitugotan niya sila. Ug migawas ang mga daotang espiritu gikan niadtong tawo ug misulod sa mga baboy. Unya ang tanang mga baboy didto nga mga duha ka libo mihaguros sa pagpanagan padulhog sa bakilid diretso sa linaw ug nangalumos.
14Nanagan ang mga nagaatiman sa mga baboy ug gisulti nila ang nahitabo ngadto sa mga tawo sa lungsod ug sa kaumahan. Busa miadto ang mga tawo kang Jesus aron tan-awon kon unsa ang nahitabo. 15Pag-abot nila didto nakita nila kadtong tawo nga kaniadto gigamhan sa mga daotang espiritu. Nagalingkod siya nga may bisti na ug maayo na ang pangisip. Busa nangahadlok sila. 16Ang mga nakakita misulti sa mga tawo kon unsa ang nahitabo sa tawo nga gigamhan kaniadto sa mga daotang espiritu ug ang nahitabo sa mga baboy. 17Tungod niadtong hitaboa nagpakilooy sila kang Jesus nga mobiya sa ilang lugar. 18Sa dihang mosakay na si Jesus sa sakayan, kadtong tawo nga kaniadto gigamhan sa mga daotang espiritu nagpakilooy kaniya nga kon mahimo paubanon siya. 19Apan wala mosugot si Jesus, giingnan hinuon niya kini, “Pauli sa imong pamilya ug sultihi sila kon unsa ang gihimo sa Ginoo ug unsa siya kamaluloy-on diha kanimo.”
20Busa milakaw kadtong tawo ug miadto siya sa probinsya sa Decapolis, ug didto gisulti niya ang gihimo ni Jesus kaniya. Natingala gayod ang tanan nga nakadungog kaniya.
Ang Bata ni Jairus ug ang Babaye nga Mihikap sa Bisti ni Jesus
(Mat. 9:18-26; Luc. 8:40-56)
21Pagtabok na usab ni Jesus sa pikas sa linaw, daghang mga tawo ang nagtigom didto kaniya. 22-23Miabot usab didto si Jairus nga usa sa mga pangulo sa sinagoga sa mga Judio. Sa pagkakita niya kang Jesus miluhod siya kaniya ug nagpakilooy, “Ang akong anak nga dalagita himalatyon na. Kon mahimo adtoi siya didto sa balay ug ipandong ang imong kamot kaniya aron mamaayo siya ug mabuhi!” 24Busa miuban si Jesus kaniya. Daghan kaayong mga tawo ang misunod kang Jesus ug nagdasok sila ngadto kaniya. 25May babaye didto nga nagtali-dugo sulod na sa dose ka tuig. 26Dako na kaayo ang iyang nagasto sa pagpatambal sa nagkalain-lain nga mga mananambal. Nagasto na niya ang tanan niyang pilak ug kabtangan, apan wala gayod siya mamaayo. Misamot hinuon ang iyang sakit. 27Nadungog niya ang balita mahitungod kang Jesus, busa miliot siya sa daghang tawo aron makaduol sa luyo ni Jesus. 28Miingon siya sa iyang kaugalingon, “Kon mahikap ko lang bisan ang iyang bisti, mamaayo gayod ako.” 29Busa gihikap niya ang bisti ni Jesus ug diha-diha miundang ang iyang pagdugo, ug nabati niya nga naayo na siya sa iyang sakit. 30Nabati ni Jesus nga may gahom nga migawas gikan kaniya, busa milingi dayon siya ug miingon, “Kinsa ang mihikap sa akong bisti?” 31Mitubag ang iyang mga tinun-an, “Kadaghan sa mga tawo nga nagdasok diha kanimo, nganong mangutana ka pa man kon kinsa ang mihikap kanimo?” 32Apan naglingi-lingi pa gayod siya kon kinsa ang mihikap kaniya. 33Tungod kay nasayran sa babaye kon unsa ang nahitabo kaniya, miduol siya kang Jesus nga nagkurog sa kahadlok. Miluhod siya ug misulti sa tinuod. 34Unya miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Anak ko, naluwas ka tungod sa imong pagtuo. Busa pauli ug ayaw na ug kaguol sa imong sakit kay naayo ka na.”
35Samtang nakigsulti pa siya sa babaye may nangabot nga pipila ka mga tawo gikan sa balay ni Jairus. Miingon sila kang Jairus, “Patay na ang imong anak. Ayaw na samoka ang magtutudlo.” 36Apan wala magtagad si Jesus sa ilang giingon. Miingon siya kang Jairus, “Ayaw kahadlok. Tuo lang.” 37Busa mipadayon sila. Apan wala siyay gipauban gawas kang Pedro ug ang magsoon nga si Santiago ug si Juan. 38Sa pag-abot nila didto sa balay ni Jairus nakita ni Jesus nga nagkaguliyang ang mga tawo. Ug may nanghilak ug nagminatay. 39Misulod sila sa balay ug miingon siya sa mga tawo, “Nganong nagkaguliyang ug nanghilak man kamo? Wala mamatay ang bata, kondili natulog lang siya.” 40Gikataw-an nila si Jesus. Busa gipagawas niya ang tanang mga tawo ug gipasulod niya sa kuwarto sa bata ang amahan ug inahan niini, ug ang tulo nga iyang kauban. 41Unya iyang gikuptan ang kamot sa bata ug miingon, “Talitha, koum,” nga ang buot ipasabot, “Inday, bangon!” 42Ug diha-diha mibangon ang dalagita ug naglakaw-lakaw. (Ang maong dalagita nagapanuigon ug dose ka tuig). Hilabihan gayod ang ilang katingala sa nahitabo. 43Apan gipahimangnoan niya sila nga dili gayod mosulti kang bisan kinsa. Ug giingnan niya sila nga hatagan ug pagkaon ang bata.
Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man
1They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.5:1 Some manuscripts Gadarenes; other manuscripts Gergesenes 2When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
9Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” 10And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
11A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
14Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
18As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis5:20 That is, the Ten Cities how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman
21When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. 23He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” 24So Jesus went with him.
A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
30At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”
32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
35While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”
36Overhearing5:36 Or Ignoring what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
37He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40But they laughed at him.
After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.
