Tumana ang Hari
2Tumana ang sugo sa hari tungod kay misaad ka sa Dios nga himuon kini. 3Ayaw pagdali-dali ug biya sa imong katungdanan sa hari, ug ayaw pag-uban sa mga nagaplano ug daotan batok kaniya, kay mahimo sa hari ang bisan unsa nga iyang gusto. 4Gamhanan kaayo ang mga sugo sa hari, ug walay makasupak niini. 5Walay daotang mahitabo sa tawo nga nagatuman niini. Ang maalamon nga tawo nakahibalo kon kanus-a ug unsaon niya paghimo ang usa ka butang. 6Kay may hustong panahon ug pamaagi sa paghimo sa matag butang, luyo sa daghang mga kalisod nga ginaatubang sa tawo.
7Tungod kay walay tawo nga nakahibalo sa umaabot, walay makasulti kang bisan kinsa kon unsa ang mahitabo. 8Maingon nga dili mapugngan sa tawo ang hangin,8:8 Maingon nga… hangin: o, Dili mapugngan sa tawo ang iyang espiritu kon mobiya na. dili usab niya mapugngan ang iyang kamatayon. Usa kini ka pagpakigbisog nga dili nato malikayan. Ug atubangan sa kamatayon, ang kadaotan sa usa ka tawo dili gayod makaluwas kaniya.
9Nakita ko kining tanan samtang gihunahuna ko ang bahin sa mga butang nga ginahimo dinhi sa kalibotan diin ang usa ka tawo may gahom sa pagpasakit sa iyang isigka-tawo. 10Nakita ko usab ang mga tawong daotan nga gilubong ug gikalimtan. Kanhi, kanunay silang magsulod-gawas sa balaan nga siyudad sa Jerusalem diin naghimo silag daotan, ug gidayeg8:10 gidayeg: Mao kini sa ubang mga kopya sa Hebreo ug sa Septuagint; apan sa Masoretic, gikalimtan. sila didto mismo sa dapit diin naghimo sila niini. Wala usab kini kapuslanan.
11Kon dili dayon mahukman ang tawo nga nakasala, mosamot paghunahuna ang uban sa paghimo ug daotan. 12Bisan makasala sa makadaghan ang tawong daotan ug mabuhi ug taas, nasayod ako nga mas maayo ang dangatan sa tawo nga nagatahod sa Dios. 13Dili mouswag ang tawong daotan kay wala siya motahod sa Dios, ug dili siya makaangkon ug taas nga kinabuhi. 14Apan may mga butang nga dili masabtan dinhi sa kalibotan. Usahay ang matarong nga mga tawo mao ang makadawat sa silot nga alang unta sa daotang mga tawo, ug ang daotan mao ang makadawat sa ganti nga alang unta sa mga matarong. Makaingon ako nga wala usab kini kapuslanan.
15Busa alang kanako, mas maayo alang sa tawo nga magpahimulos sa iyang kinabuhi kay walay laing maayo alang kaniya dinhi sa kalibotan kondili ang pagkaon, pag-inom, ug paglipay. Niining paagiha makasinati siya ug kalipay samtang nagahago siya sa tibuok kinabuhi nga gihatag sa Dios kaniya dinhi sa kalibotan.
16Adlaw ug gabii dili ako makatulog sa pagpaninguha nga makaangkon ug kaalam aron masabtan ko ang mga nagakahitabo sa kalibotan. 17Nakita ko ang tanan nga ginahimo sa Dios dinhi sa kalibotan, ug wala gayoy tawo nga makasabot niini. Bisan pa ug unsaon pagpaningkamot sa tawo nga makasabot niini, dili gayod niya kini masabtan. Bisag moingon pa ang tawong maalamon nga makasabot siya, ang tinuod dili siya makasabot.

6¶ Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. 7For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?8.7 when…: or, how it shall be? 8There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.8.8 discharge: or, casting off weapons
9All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt. 10And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity. 11Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
12¶ Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: 13But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.
14There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity. 15Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.
16¶ When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:) 17Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
