Nakigsabot si Judas sa Pagtugyan kang Jesus
(Mat. 26:14-16; Mar. 14:10-11)

7Karon, miabot na ang Pista sa Pan nga Walay Patubo. Miingon siya, “Pag-una kamo ug andama ang atong panihapon alang sa Pista sa Paglabay sa Anghel.” 9Nangutana sila kaniya. “Asa man ang imong gusto nga kami mag-andam niini?” 10Mitubag si Jesus kanila, “Pag-abot ninyo sa siyudad, may motagbo kaninyo nga tawo nga nagadala ug banga nga may tubig. Sunda ninyo siya ug sulod usab kamo sa balay nga iyang sudlan, 11ug ingna ninyo ang tagbalay, ‘Nangutana ang Magtutudlo kon asa ang kuwarto nga kan-an niya uban sa iyang mga tinun-an sa pagsaulog sa Pista sa Paglabay sa Anghel.’ 12Ipakita niya kaninyo ang dako nga kuwarto sa taas nga kompleto sa kagamitan. Didto kamo pag-andam sa atong panihapon.” 13Nanglakaw ang duha nga iyang gisugo, ug nakita nila ang tanan sumala sa giingon ni Jesus kanila. Ug giandam nila didto ang panihapon alang sa pista.
Ang Kataposang Panihapon
(Mat. 26:26-30; Mar. 14:22-26; 1 Cor. 11:23-25)
14Sa dihang tingpanihapon na, milingkod si Jesus kauban sa iyang mga apostoles aron mangaon. 15Unya miingon si Jesus kanila, “Dako gayod ang akong handom nga sa dili pa ako mag-antos, magkauban una kita sa pagpangaon sa pagsaulog niining Pista sa Paglabay sa Anghel. 16Kay ang tinuod, dili na ako mokaon pag-usab niini hangtod nga matuman na ang tinuod nga kahulogan niini kon muabot na ang paghari sa Dios.” 17Unya mikuha siya ug ilimnon, nagpasalamat sa Dios, ug miingon, “Ilibot ninyo kini ug pagpuli-puli kamo sa pag-inom. 18Sa pagkatinuod, gikan karon dili na ako moinom sa ilimnon nga gikan sa ubas hangtod nga muabot ang paghari sa Dios.” 19Mikuha siya ug pan ug nagpasalamat sa Dios. Unya gipikas-pikas niya kini ug gipanghatag kanila ug miingon, “Mao kini ang akong lawas nga gihatag alang kaninyo. Himoa ninyo kini aron sa paghandom kanako.” 20Pagkahuman, mikuha siya ug ilimnon ug miingon, “Kini nga ilimnon mao ang bag-o nga kasabotan nga palig-onon pinaagi sa akong dugo nga iula alang kaninyo.
21“Apan paminaw kamo, ania kauban nato dinhi sa pagpangaon ang tawo nga magluib kanako. 22Kay ako nga Anak sa Tawo mamatay sumala sa plano sa Dios, apan alaot ang tawo nga motugyan kanako ngadto sa akong mga kaaway.” 23Pagkadungog nila niini nagpangutan-anay sila kon kinsa kaha kanila ang mohimo niini.
Ang Panaglalis kon Kinsa ang Pinakalabaw
24Sa kaulahian naglalis ang mga apostoles kon kinsa gayod kanila ang pinakalabaw. 25Busa miingon si Jesus kanila, “Dinhi niining kalibotan nagamando ang mga hari sa ilang mga sakop. Ug gusto sa mga may gahom nga tawgon sila nga mga ‘dalangpanan sa mga tawo.’ 26Apan kaninyo dili ingon niana. Kay kon kinsa kaninyo ang may taas nga katungdanan, kinahanglang magpaubos. Ug kon kinsa kaninyo ang nagdumala, kinahanglan mahisama siya sa sulugoon. 27Kinsa sa duha ang mas labaw, ang gisilbihan ba sa pagkaon o ang nagsilbi? Dili ba nga mas labaw man ang gisilbihan? Apan ako mao gayod ang nagasilbe kaninyo bisan tuod ug ako inyong agalon.”
28Misulti pag-usab si Jesus kanila, “Kamo ang miunong kanako sa mga pagsulay nga akong naagian. 29Busa tungod kay gihatagan ako sa akong Amahan ug gahom sa paghari, hatagan ko usab kamo sa samang gahom. 30Makauban ko kamo sa pagpangaon ug pag-inom didto sa akong lamisa kon maghari na ako. Magdumala ug maghukom kamo sa 12 ka tribo sa Israel.”
Gitagna ni Jesus nga Ilimod Siya ni Pedro
(Mat. 26:31-35; Mar. 14:27-31; Juan 13:36-38)
31Unya miingon si Jesus kang Pedro, “Simon, paminawa ako! Nananghid si Satanas nga sulayan niya kamo.22:31 sulayan niya kamo: sa literal, ayagon kamo sama sa pag-ayag sa trigo. 32Apan nagaampo ako alang kanimo aron nga dili mawala ang imong pagtuo. Ug kon mobalik ka na sa imong pagtuo kanako lig-onon mo ang pagtuo sa imong mga igsoon.” 33Mitubag si Pedro, “Ginoo, andam gayod ako nga mounong kanimo bisan sa prisohan o sa kamatayon.” 34Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Pedro, sultihan ko ikaw sa tinuod, sa dili pa motuktugaok ang manok unyang gabii ilimod mo na sa makatulo nga nakaila ka kanako.”
Sa Panahon sa Kalisod
35Unya gipangutana ni Jesus ang iyang mga apostoles, “Sa dihang gisugo ko kamo kaniadto nga manglakaw sa pagwali, giingnan ko kamo nga dili magdala ug pitaka, o bag, o sandalyas. Unya unsa man, nakulangan ba kamo sa bisan unsa?” Mitubag sila, “Wala gayod.” 36Miingon si Jesus, “Apan karon, kon may bag o pitaka kamo, dad-a kini. Ug kon wala kamoy espada, ibaligya ang inyong bisti ug pagpalit ug espada. 37Sa pagkatinuod, kinahanglan nga matuman ang anaa sa Kasulatan mahitungod kanako nga nagaingon, ‘Giisip siya nga usa sa mga kriminal.’22:37 Tan-awa usab ang Isa. 53:12. Ug gani ang anaa sa Kasulatan mahitungod kanako matuman na.” 38Miingon ang mga apostoles, “Ginoo, ania may duha ka espada dinhi.” Mitubag si Jesus, “Husto na kana.”
Nagaampo si Jesus didto sa Bukid sa mga Olibo
(Mat. 26:36-46; Mar. 14:32-42)
39Milakaw si Jesus ug miadto sa Bukid sa mga Olibo sumala sa iyang nabatasan. Miuban kaniya ang iyang mga tinun-an. 40Pag-abot nila didto miingon siya, “Pag-ampo kamo nga dili kamo madaog sa pagsulay.” 41Mipalayo-layo siya kanila. Didto miluhod siya ug nagaampo. 42Miingon siya, “Amahan, kon itugot mo, ayaw ipadangat kining umaabot nako nga pag-antos. Apan dili ang akong pagbuot ang matuman, kondili ang imo.” 43[Nagpakita kaniya ang anghel gikan sa langit ug nagpalig-on kaniya. 44Tungod sa tumang kasakit nga iyang gibati, hugot ug kinasingkasing ang iyang pag-ampo, ug ang iyang singot daw sa dugo nga mitulo sa yuta.]
45Pagkahuman niya ug ampo, mitindog siya ug mibalik sa iyang mga tinun-an. Naabtan niya sila nga nangatulog tungod kay naluya sila sa hilabihan nga kasubo. 46Miingon si Jesus kanila, “Nganong nangatulog man kamo? Bangon kamo ug pag-ampo nga dili kamo madaog sa pagsulay.”
Ang Pagdakop kang Jesus
(Mat. 26:47-56; Mar. 14:43-50; Juan 18:3-11)
47Samtang nagsulti pa si Jesus, miabot ang daghang mga tawo. Si Judas nga usa sa 12 ka apostoles ang nagauna kanila. Miduol si Judas kang Jesus ug mihalok kaniya. 48Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Judas, budhian mo ba ako nga Anak sa Tawo pinaagi sa usa ka halok?” 49Sa dihang nakita sa mga kauban ni Jesus nga morag may mahitabo na kaniya, miingon sila, “Ginoo, panigbason ba namo sila?” 50Ug gitigbas sa usa kanila ang sulugoon sa pangulong pari, ug naputol ang tuong dalunggan niini. 51Apan miingon si Jesus kanila, “Husto na kana!” Unya gibalik ni Jesus ang naputol nga dalunggan ug naayo.
52Unya miingon si Jesus sa kadagkoan sa mga pari, sa mga opisyal sa mga guwardya sa templo, ug sa uban nga mga pangulo sa mga Judio nga miadto didto sa pagdakop kaniya, “Tulisan ba ako nga kinahanglan nga magdala gayod kamo ug mga espada ug mga bunal sa pagdakop kanako? 53Adlaw-adlaw didto ako sa templo ug didto usab kamo. Nganong wala man ninyo ako dakpa? Apan mao na kini ang inyong higayon. Ug niining panahona nagahari ang kangitngit.”
Gilimod ni Pedro si Jesus
(Mat. 26:57-58, 69-75; Mar. 14:53-54, 66-72; Juan 18:12-18, 25-27)
54Gidakop nila si Jesus ug gidala ngadto sa balay sa pangulong pari. Misunod usab si Pedro, apan didto lang siya sa layo. 55Didto sa tunga sa tugkaran naghaling ug kalayo ang mga tawo ug nanglingkod didto sa duol aron mainit-initan. Si Pedro nagpaduol usab didto kanila ug milingkod. 56May usa ka sulugoon nga babaye nga nakakita kang Pedro nga nagalingkod duol sa kalayo. Gitutokan niya si Pedro, ug miingon, “Kini siya kauban usab nianang tawo.” 57Apan milimod si Pedro nga nagaingon, “Day, wala man gani ako makaila kaniya.” 58Wala madugay may nakakita na usab kaniya nga lalaki nga nagaingon, “Ikaw usa usab sa iyang mga kauban.” Apan mitubag si Pedro, “Dili uy! Dili niya ako kauban.” 59Mga usa ka oras ang milabay ug may miingon na usab, “Tinuod gayod nga kining tawhana kauban niya kay siya taga-Galilea usab.” 60Apan mitubag si Pedro, “Dili uy! Wala ako makahibalo sa imong gipanulti.” Samtang nagsulti pa si Pedro, mituktugaok ang manok. 61Milingi ang Ginoo ug gitutokan niya si Pedro. Unya nahinumdoman ni Pedro ang gisulti sa Ginoo nga sa dili pa motuktugaok ang manok, ilimod na niya siya sa makatulo. 62Busa migawas si Pedro ug mihilak gayod sa hilabihan.
Gibugalbugalan ug Gibunalan si Jesus
(Mat. 26:67-68; Mar. 14:65)
63Gibugalbugalan ug gibunalan si Jesus sa mga tawo nga nagbantay kaniya. 64Gitaptapan nila siya ug giingnan, “Tag-ana kon kinsa ang nagdapat kanimo?” 65Ug daghan pa gayod ang ilang gipanulti sa pagpakaulaw kaniya.
Gidala si Jesus sa Korte sa mga Judio
(Mat. 26:59-66; Mar. 14:55-64; Juan 18:19-24)
66Pagkabuntag, nagtigom ang mga pangulo sa mga Judio. Ang uban kanila kadagkoan sa mga pari, ug ang uban mga magtutudlo sa Kasugoan. Gidala nila si Jesus sa ilang korte. 67Miingon sila kang Jesus, “Tug-ani kami kon ikaw ba ang Cristo.” Mitubag siya, “Bisan sultihan ko kamo dili gihapon kamo motuo. 68Ug kon pangutan-on ko kamo dili usab kamo motubag. 69Apan gikan karon, ako nga Anak sa Tawo molingkod na sa tuong dapit sa makaga-gahom nga Dios.” 70Miingon silang tanan, “Kon mao kana, ikaw diay ang Anak sa Dios.” Mitubag si Jesus, “Kamo na gayod ang nagaingon.” 71Busa miingon sila, “Unsa pa gayod nga mga pagpamatuod ang atong gikinahanglan? Kita na mismo ang nakadungog sa iyang giingon.”
Judas Agrees to Hand Jesus Over
1The Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was near. 2The chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for a way to get rid of Jesus. They were afraid of the people. 3Then Satan entered Judas, who was called Iscariot. Judas was one of the 12 disciples. 4He went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard. He talked with them about how he could hand Jesus over to them. 5They were delighted and agreed to give him money. 6Judas accepted their offer. He watched for the right time to hand Jesus over to them. He wanted to do it when no crowd was around.
The Last Supper
7Then the day of Unleavened Bread came. That was the time the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8Jesus sent Peter and John on ahead. “Go,” he told them. “Prepare for us to eat the Passover meal.”
9“Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.
10Jesus replied, “When you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house he enters. 11Then say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks, “Where is the guest room? Where can I eat the Passover meal with my disciples?” ’ 12He will show you a large upstairs room with furniture already in it. Prepare for us to eat there.”
13Peter and John left. They found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover meal.
14When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles took their places at the table. 15He said to them, “I have really looked forward to eating this Passover meal with you. I wanted to do this before I suffer. 16I tell you, I will not eat the Passover meal again until it is celebrated in God’s kingdom.”
17After Jesus took the cup, he gave thanks. He said, “Take this cup and share it among yourselves. 18I tell you, I will not drink wine with you again until God’s kingdom comes.”
19Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks and broke it. He handed it to them and said, “This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do this in memory of me.”
20In the same way, after the supper he took the cup. He said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. It is poured out for you. 21But someone here is going to hand me over to my enemies. His hand is with mine on the table. 22The Son of Man will go to his death, just as God has already decided. But how terrible it will be for the one who hands him over!” 23The apostles began to ask one another about this. They wondered which one of them would do it.
24They also started to argue. They disagreed about which of them was thought to be the most important person. 25Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles hold power over their people. And those who order them around call themselves Protectors. 26But you must not be like that. Instead, the most important among you should be like the youngest. The one who rules should be like the one who serves. 27Who is more important? Is it the one at the table, or the one who serves? Isn’t it the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. 28You have stood by me during my troubles. 29And I give you a kingdom, just as my Father gave me a kingdom. 30Then you will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.
31“Simon, Simon! Satan has asked to sift all of you disciples like wheat. 32But I have prayed for you, Simon. I have prayed that your faith will not fail. When you have turned back, help your brothers to be strong.”
33But Simon replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”
34Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, you will say three times that you don’t know me. And you will do it before the rooster crows today.”
35Then Jesus asked the disciples, “Did you need anything when I sent you without a purse, bag or sandals?”
“Nothing,” they answered.
36He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it. And also take a bag. If you don’t have a sword, sell your coat and buy one. 37It is written, ‘He was counted among those who had committed crimes.’ (Isaiah 53:12) I tell you that what is written about me must come true. Yes, it is already coming true.”
38The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
“Two swords are enough!” he replied.
Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives
39Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives. His disciples followed him. 40When they reached the place, Jesus spoke. “Pray that you won’t fall into sin when you are tempted,” he said to them. 41Then he went a short distance away from them. There he got down on his knees and prayed. 42He said, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup of suffering away from me. But do what you want, not what I want.” 43An angel from heaven appeared to Jesus and gave him strength. 44Because he was very sad and troubled, he prayed even harder. His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
45After that, he got up from prayer and went back to the disciples. He found them sleeping. They were worn out because they were very sad. 46“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up! Pray that you won’t fall into sin when you are tempted.”
Jesus Is Arrested
47While Jesus was still speaking, a crowd came up. The man named Judas was leading them. He was one of the 12 disciples. Judas approached Jesus to kiss him. 48But Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you handing over the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen. So they said, “Lord, should we use our swords against them?” 50One of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
51But Jesus answered, “Stop this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.
52Then Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders. They had all come for him. “Am I leading a band of armed men against you?” he asked. “Do you have to come with swords and clubs? 53Every day I was with you in the temple courtyard. And you didn’t lay a hand on me. But this is your hour. This is when darkness rules.”
Peter Says He Does Not Know Jesus
54Then the men arrested Jesus and led him away. They took him into the high priest’s house. Peter followed from far away. 55Some people there started a fire in the middle of the courtyard. Then they sat down together. Peter sat down with them. 56A female servant saw him sitting there in the firelight. She looked closely at him. Then she said, “This man was with Jesus.”
57But Peter said he had not been with him. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
58A little later someone else saw Peter. “You also are one of them,” he said.
“No,” Peter replied. “I’m not!”
59About an hour later, another person spoke up. “This fellow must have been with Jesus,” he said. “He is from Galilee.”
60Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 61The Lord turned and looked right at Peter. Then Peter remembered what the Lord had spoken to him. “The rooster will crow today,” Jesus had said. “Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.” 62Peter went outside. He broke down and cried.
The Guards Make Fun of Jesus
63There were men guarding Jesus. They began laughing at him and beating him. 64They blindfolded him. They said, “Prophesy! Who hit you?” 65They also said many other things to make fun of him.
Jesus Is Brought to Pilate and Herod
66At dawn the elders of the people met together. These included the chief priests and the teachers of the law. Jesus was led to them. 67“If you are the Messiah,” they said, “tell us.”
Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me. 68And if I asked you, you would not answer. 69But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.”
70They all asked, “Are you the Son of God then?”
He replied, “You say that I am.”
71Then they said, “Why do we need any more witnesses? We have heard it from his own lips.”
