1Ako si Judas, igsoon ni Santiago ug alagad ni Jesu-Cristo. Nangumusta ako kaninyong mga tinawag sa Dios, kamo nga gihigugma sa Dios nga Amahan ug giampingan ni Jesu-Cristo.
2Hinaut nga madawat ninyo ang dugang pa gayod nga kalooy, kalinaw ug gugma sa Dios.
Ang Mini nga mga Magtutudlo Bahin sa Dios
3Mga hinigugma, gusto ko gayod unta nga magsulat kaninyo bahin sa kaluwasan nga atong nadawat, apan nahunahunaan ko nga mas kinahanglan gayod nga sulatan ko kamo nga magmaisogon sa pagpakigbatok sa mga tawo nga buot motuis sa mga pagtulon-an mahitungod sa atong pagtuo. Kini nga mga pagtulon-an walay pagkausab ug gihatag kini sa Dios sa iyang mga katawhan sa tanang kapanahonan. 4Gisulatan ko kamo niini tungod kay may mga tawo nga sa hilom miipon diha kaninyo. Dili sila diosnon ug tuison nila ang tinuod nga mga pagtulon-an mahitungod sa grasya sa atong Dios aron makapatuyang sila sa pagbuhat ug malaw-ay.1:4 Nagatuo sila nga walay kaso bisan malaw-ay ang atong mga gibuhat, kay maluloy-on ang Dios, busa pasayloon niya kita. Gilimod nila si Jesu-Cristo nga mao lamang ang atong Agalon ug Tag-iya. Nahisulat nang daan kaniadto pa nga kini sila silotan.
5Bisan nasayod na kamo, gusto ko pa gihapon kamong pahinumdoman nga giluwas sa Ginoo ang mga Israelinhon sa Ehipto, apan sa kaulahian gipamatay niya ang uban kanila tungod kay wala sila motuo kaniya. 6Hinumdomi usab ninyo ang mga anghel nga wala magpabilin sa ilang naandang katungdanan, ug mibiya hinuon sa ilang puloy-anan. Mao kadto nga gipagapos sila sa Dios sa mga kadena nga dili mabugto ug gibilanggo sa lawom ug mangiob nga dapit hangtod nga moabot ang adlaw nga hukman sila sa Dios. 7Hinumdomi usab ninyo ang mga tawo sa Sodoma ug Gomora ug ang kasikbit nga mga lungsod niini. Nagpakasala usab sila sama niadtong mga anghel. Kay gusto sa mga tawo sa Sodoma ug Gomora nga makighilawas sa dili nila asawa o bana o bisan gani sa sama nilang lalaki o babaye. Kadtong kalayo nga gisilot kanila pasidaan ngadto sa mga daotan nga sa ulahing mga adlaw may silot nga walay kataposan diha sa kalayo nga walay pagkapalong.
8Ingon usab niini nga mga tawo ang gi-ingon ko nga miipon sa hilom diha kaninyo. May mga panan-awon sila nga nagatukmod kanila sa pagpakasala sa ilang kaugalingon nga lawas. Ug tungod usab niining ilang mga panan-awon, dili sila magpasakop sa Ginoo ug ginatamay nila ang gamhanan nga mga binuhat. 9Bisan gani si Miguel nga pangulong anghel wala maghimo ug sama niana. Kay paglalis nila ni Satanas kon kinsa kanila ang mokuha sa patayng lawas ni Moises, wala siya mangahas nga hukman si Satanas nga silotan tungod sa iyang pagpasipala kang Moises. Ang giingon lang niya, “Ang Ginoo ang mobadlong kanimo!” 10Apan kana nga mga tawo nagtamay sa mga butang nga wala nila masabti. Sama sila sa mga mananap nga walay hunahuna, kay wala silay lain nga ginasunod kondili ang ilang naandan nga mga ginabati, nga maoy maglaglag kanila. 11Alaot sila! Kay gisunod nila ang batasan ni Cain. Ug gisunod usab nila si Balaam, kay bisan nasayran nila nga daotan ang ilang gibuhat nagpadayon pa gihapon sila tungod sa ilang kahakog sa kuwarta. Sama usab sila kang Kora nga nagrebelde sa Dios, busa silotan usab sila sama kaniya. 12Kana nga mga tawo nagadaot sa inyong panagtigom sa pagpangaon isip managsoon diha kang Cristo. Kay nagapatuyang lang silag kaon ug inom ug wala silay kaulaw. Ang ila lang kaugalingon ang ilang gihunahuna. Sama sila sa panganod nga walay dalang ulan ug gipalid sa hangin. Sama usab sila sa kahoy nga wala mamunga bisag panahon sa tingpamunga. Gipangibot sila ug patay na gayod. 13Sama sila sa kusog nga balod, ug ingon nga makita ang bula nga mogawas sa mga balod, makita usab ang ilang mga makauulaw nga binuhatan. Sama sila sa mga bitoon nga nahisalaag. Busa may lugar nga mangitngit kaayo nga gitagana ang Dios alang kanila. Ug didto sila sa walay kataposan.
14Si Enoc nga ikaunom nga kaliwat ni Adan nanagna na bahin kanila. Miingon siya, “Moabot ang Ginoo kauban sa iyang linibo ka mga anghel 15sa paghukom sa tanan, ug sa pagsilot sa mga dili diosnon tungod sa ilang daotan nga mga binuhatan, ug tungod sa mga daotan nga mga pulong nga gisulti nila batok kaniya.”
16Kana nga mga tawo mga bagulbolan. Dili sila kontento sa ilang kahimtang, ang ila lang kaugalingon nga mga tinguha ang ilang gipalabi, mga hambogiro sila, ug giulog-ulogan nila ang uban aron makuha nila ang ilang gusto.
Ang mga Pahimangno
17Apan mga hinigugma, hinumdomi ninyo ang giingon kaninyo kaniadto sa mga apostoles sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo. 18Miingon sila, “Sa ulahing mga adlaw motungha ang mga tawong magbiaybiay kaninyo, ug ang ilang sundon mao lang ang ilang daotan nga mga tinguha.” 19Mao kana nga mga tawo ang maghimog pamaagi nga kamong mga tumutuo magkabahin-bahin. Gigamhan sila sa ilang tawhanong kinaiya. Wala kanila ang Espiritu Santo. 20Apan kamo mga hinigugma, paglig-onay kamo sa inyong balaan nga ginatuohan. Pag-ampo kamo nga giniyahan sa gahom sa Espiritu Santo. 21Pabilin gayod kamo diha sa gugma sa Dios samtang nagahulat kamo sa kinabuhi nga walay kataposan nga ihatag sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo tungod sa iyang kalooy. 22Kaloy-i ninyo ang mga nagaduhaduha. 23Tabangi ninyo sila aron maluwas sila gikan sa silot, sama nga nagasakmit kamo sa usa ka butang nga hapit nang masunog. Kaloy-i ninyo bisan ang mga tawo nga daotan ug binuhatan, apan kapungti ninyo ang ilang mga binuhatan. Pagbantay kamo kay bisan gani ang ilang mga bisti hugaw atubangan sa Dios.
Pagdayeg ug Pagpasalamat sa Dios
24Ang Dios makahimo sa pagbantay kaninyo aron dili kamo mahulog sa pagpakasala, ug madala niya kamo nga walay ikasaway ug malipayon gayod ngadto sa iyang presensya! 25Dalaygon gayod siya! Siya lang gayod ang Dios ug atong Manluluwas pinaagi kang Jesu-Cristo nga atong Ginoo. Kaniya ang kadungganan, pagkahalangdon, gahom, ug katungod sukad pa sa sinugdan, karon, ug sa walay kataposan! Amen.
1I, Jude, am writing this letter. I serve Jesus Christ. I am a brother of James.
I am sending this letter to you who have been chosen by God. You are loved by God the Father. You are kept safe for Jesus Christ.
2May more and more mercy, peace and love be given to you.
A Warning Against the Sin of Ungodly People
3Dear friends, I really wanted to write to you about the salvation we share. But now I feel I should write and ask you to stand up for the faith. God’s holy people were trusted with it once and for all time. 4Certain people have secretly slipped in among you. Long ago it was written that they would be judged. They are ungodly people. They misuse the grace of our God as an excuse for sexual sins. They say no to Jesus Christ, our only Lord and King.
5I want to remind you about some things you already know. The Lord saved his people. At one time he brought them out of Egypt. But later he destroyed those who did not believe. 6Some of the angels didn’t stay where they belonged. They didn’t keep their positions of authority. The Lord has kept those angels in darkness. They are held by chains that last forever. On judgment day, God will judge them. 7The people of Sodom and Gomorrah and the towns around them also did evil things. They freely committed sexual sins. They committed sins of the worst possible kind. There is a fire that never goes out. Those people are an example of those who are punished with it.
8In the very same way, these ungodly people act on their evil dreams. So they make their own bodies impure. They don’t accept authority. And they say evil things against heavenly beings. 9But even Michael, the leader of the angels, didn’t dare to say these things. He didn’t even say these things when he argued with the devil about the body of Moses. Michael didn’t dare to judge the devil. He didn’t say the devil was guilty of saying evil things. Instead, Michael said, “May the Lord judge you!” 10But these people say evil things against whatever they don’t understand. And the very things they do understand will destroy them. That’s because they are like wild animals that can’t think for themselves. Instead, they do what comes naturally to them.
11How terrible it will be for them! They have followed the way of Cain. They have rushed into the same mistake Balaam made. They did it because they loved money. They are like Korah. He turned against his leaders. These people will certainly be destroyed, just as Korah was.
12These ungodly people are like stains at the meals you share. They have no shame. They are shepherds who feed only themselves. They are like clouds without rain. They are blown along by the wind. They are like trees in the fall. Since they have no fruit, they are pulled out of the ground. So they die twice. 13They are like wild waves of the sea. Their shame rises up like foam. They are like falling stars. God has reserved a place of very black darkness for them forever.
14Enoch was the seventh man in the family line of Adam. He gave a prophecy about these people. He said, “Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of his holy ones. 15He is coming to judge everyone. He is coming to sentence all of them. He will judge them for all the ungodly acts they have done. They have done them in ungodly ways. He will sentence ungodly sinners for all the things they have said to oppose him.” 16These people complain and find fault with others. They follow their own evil desires. They brag about themselves. They praise others to get what they want.
Remain in God’s Love
17Dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ said would happen. 18They told you, “In the last days, some people will make fun of the truth. They will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19They are the people who separate you from one another. They do only what comes naturally. They are not led by the Holy Spirit.
20But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Let the Holy Spirit guide and help you when you pray. 21And by doing these things, remain in God’s love as you wait. You are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.
22Show mercy to those who doubt. 23Save others by pulling them out of the fire. To others, show mercy mixed with fear of sin. Hate even the clothes that are stained by the sins of those who wear them.
Praise to God
24Give praise to the God who is able to keep you from falling into sin. He will bring you into his heavenly glory without any fault. He will bring you there with great joy. 25Give praise to the only God our Savior. Glory, majesty, power and authority belong to him. Give praise to him through Jesus Christ our Lord. His praise was before all time, continues now, and will last forever. Amen.
