Ang Pagkabanhaw ni Jesus
(Mat. 28:1-8; Mar. 16:1-8; Luc. 24:1-12)
1Sayo sa adlawng Dominggo, ngitngit pa, miadto si Maria nga taga-Magdala didto sa lubnganan. Pag-abot niya didto, nakita niya nga ang gisampong nga bato wala na didto sa baba sa lubnganan. 2Busa midagan siya paingon kang Simon Pedro ug sa tinun-an nga gimahal ni Jesus. Pag-abot niya didto kanila miingon siya, “Gikuha nila sa lubnganan ang Ginoo, ug wala kami masayod kon asa nila siya gibutang!” 3Busa miadto si Pedro ug kadtong tinun-an didto sa lubnganan. 4Nanagan silang duha, apan mas kusog modagan ang usa kay kang Pedro. Busa una siya nga nakaabot sa lubnganan. 5Pag-abot niya didto miduko siya ug milili, ug nakita niya ang mga panaptong puti, apan wala siya mosulod. 6Pagkataudtaod miabot usab si Simon Pedro, ug milahos siyag sulod sa lubnganan. Nakita niya ang mga panapton 7ug ang panyo nga giputos sa ulo ni Jesus. Napilo na ang panyo sa usa ka lugar nga nalain sa mga panapton. 8-9Misulod usab dayon ang tinun-an nga unang miabot, ug nakita usab niya ang mga butang sa sulod. Bisan wala pa sila makasabot sa giingon sa Kasulatan nga kinahanglan mabanhaw si Jesus, nagtuo siya nga nabanhaw si Jesus. 10Ug mipauli dayon ang duha ka tinun-an.
Nagpakita si Jesus kang Maria nga taga-Magdala
(Mat. 28:9-10; Mar. 16:9-11)
11Si Maria nagatindog pa didto sa gawas sa lubnganan nga nagahilak. Samtang naghilak siya, miduko siya ug milili sa sulod sa lubnganan. 12Nakita niya nga may duha ka anghel didto sa sulod nga nagbisti ug puti. Didto sila nanglingkod sa gibutangan sa patayng lawas ni Jesus. Ang usa dapit sa may ulohan ug ang usa dapit sa may tiilan. 13Gipangutana sa mga anghel si Maria, “Nganong nagahilak ka?” Mitubag si Maria, “Tungod kay may nagkuha sa patayng lawas sa akong Ginoo ug wala ako masayod kon asa nila gibutang!” 14Pagkahuman niyag sulti niadto, miliso dayon siya ug nakita niya si Jesus nga nagatindog, apan wala niya mailhi nga si Jesus diay kadto. 15Nangutana si Jesus kaniya, “Nganong nagahilak ka? Kinsa ba ang imong gipangita?” Abi ni Maria nga ang tig-atiman kadto sa mga tanom didto. Busa miingon siya, “Kon ikaw ang nagkuha kaniya, sultihi ako kon asa mo siya gibutang, kay kuhaon ko siya.” 16Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Maria!” Miatubang si Maria kang Jesus, ug miingon sa Hebreo nga pinulongan, “Rabboni!” (nga ang buot ipasabot, “Magtutudlo.”) 17Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Ayaw pagkupot kanako, kay wala pa ako makakayab ngadto sa Amahan. Adtoi hinuon ang akong mga igsoon ug sultihi sila nga mokayab na ako ngadto sa akong Amahan ug Amahan usab ninyo, sa akong Dios ug Dios usab ninyo.” 18Busa miadto si Maria nga taga-Magdala sa mga tinun-an ni Jesus ug gisultihan niya sila nga nakita niya ang Ginoo, ug gisulti niya kanila ang gitugon ni Jesus.
Nagpakita si Jesus sa Iyang mga Tinun-an
(Mat. 28:16-20; Mar. 16:14-18; Luc. 24:36-44)
19Sa dihang kilomkilom na niadtong Dominggoha, nagtigom sa usa ka balay ang mga tinun-an. Ug tungod sa ilang kahadlok sa kadagkoan sa mga Judio, gitrangkahan nila ang mga pultahan sa balay nga ilang tigomanan. Miabot si Jesus ug mitindog didto sa ilang taliwala. Miingon siya, “Ang kalinaw maanaa kaninyo.” 20Pagkahuman niyag sulti niini, iyang gipakita kanila ang mga samad sa iyang mga kamot ug kilid. Ug nalipay gayod ang mga tinun-an sa dihang nakita nila ang Ginoo. 21Ug miingon pag-usab si Jesus kanila, “Ang kalinaw maanaa kaninyo. Ingon nga ang Amahan nagpadala kanako, ako magapadala usab kaninyo.” 22Gihuypan dayon niya sila ug miingon, “Dawata ninyo ang Espiritu Santo. 23Kon pasayloon ninyo si bisan kinsa sa ilang mga sala, gipasaylo na sila sa Dios. Apan kon dili ninyo pasayloon, wala sila pasayloa sa Dios.”
Nagduhaduha si Tomas
24Si Tomas nga gitawag nga Kaluha, nga usa usab sa dose ka mga apostoles, wala didto sa pag-abot ni Jesus. 25Busa gisultihan siya sa iyang kauban nga mga tinun-an nga nakita nila ang Ginoo. Apan miingon si Tomas kanila, “Gawas kon makita ko ang agi sa lansang sa iyang mga kamot, ug masulod ko ang akong tudlo sa iyang mga samad, ug masulod ko ang akong kamot sa samad sa iyang kilid, dili gayod ako motuo.”
26Paglabay sa usa ka semana, nagtigom pag-usab ang mga tinun-an ni Jesus sa balay nga ilang tigomanan, ug kauban na nila si Tomas. Gitrangkahan nila ang mga pultahan sa balay, apan misulod na usab si Jesus ug mitindog didto sa ilang taliwala. Miingon siya kanila, “Ang kalinaw maanaa kaninyo.” 27Dayon miingon siya kang Tomas, “Tomas, dali, tan-awa ang akong mga kamot ug isulod ang imong tudlo sa akong mga samad. Isulod usab ang imong kamot sa samad sa akong kilid. Ayaw na pagduhaduha, tuo na hinuon.” 28Miingon si Tomas kang Jesus, “Ginoo ko ug Dios ko!” 29Miingon dayon si Jesus kaniya, “Motuo ka na ba karon kay nakita mo na ako? Bulahan ang mga tawo nga nagatuo kanako bisan wala nila ako makita.”
Ang Katuyoan Niini nga Libro
30Daghan pa gayod nga mga milagro ang gipangbuhat ni Jesus nga nasaksihan mismo sa iyang mga tinun-an nga wala masulat niining libroha. 31Apan ang mga nahisulat dinhi gisulat aron motuo kamo nga si Jesus mao ang Cristo, ang Anak sa Dios. Ug kon motuo kamo kaniya may kinabuhi kamo nga walay kataposan.
The Tomb Is Empty
1Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. It was still dark. She saw that the stone had been moved away from the entrance. 2So she ran to Simon Peter and another disciple, the one Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb! We don’t know where they have put him!”
3So Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4Both of them were running. The other disciple ran faster than Peter. He reached the tomb first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there. But he did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came along behind him. He went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there. 7He also saw the funeral cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place. It was separate from the linen. 8The disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside. He saw and believed. 9They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead. 10Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
11But Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she cried, she bent over to look into the tomb. 12She saw two angels dressed in white. They were seated where Jesus’ body had been. One of them was where Jesus’ head had been laid. The other sat where his feet had been placed.
13They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said. “I don’t know where they have put him.” 14Then she turned around and saw Jesus standing there. But she didn’t realize that it was Jesus.
15He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?”
She thought he was the gardener. So she said, “Sir, did you carry him away? Tell me where you put him. Then I will go and get him.”
16Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him. Then she cried out in the Aramaic language, “Rabboni!” Rabboni means Teacher.
17Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me. I have not yet ascended to the Father. Instead, go to those who believe in me. Tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
18Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news. She said, “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.
Jesus Appears to His Disciples
19On the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were together. They had locked the doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “May peace be with you!” 20Then he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were very happy when they saw the Lord.
21Again Jesus said, “May peace be with you! The Father has sent me. So now I am sending you.” 22He then breathed on them. He said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24Thomas was one of the 12 disciples. He was also called Didymus. He was not with the other disciples when Jesus came. 25So they told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “First I must see the nail marks in his hands. I must put my finger where the nails were. I must put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe.”
26A week later, Jesus’ disciples were in the house again. Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “May peace be with you!” 27Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me but still have believed.”
The Purpose of John’s Gospel
30Jesus performed many other signs in front of his disciples. They are not written down in this book. 31But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. If you believe this, you will have life because you belong to him.
