Gisalikway sa Israel ang Ginoo
1Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 2“Lakaw ug isulti kini ngadto sa mga taga-Jerusalem, ‘Nahinumdoman ko pa ang inyong pagkamatinud-anon sa batan-on pa kamo, ug ang inyong paghigugma kanako nga daw sama sa babayeng bag-ong gikasal. Misunod kamo kanako bisan ngadto sa kamingawan nga walay mga tanom. 3Gilain ko kamong mga Israelinhon alang kanako. Sama kamo sa unang abot sa ani alang kanako. Gisilotan ko ang mga nagdaog-daog kaninyo, ug nalaglag sila. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.’ ”
4Pamatia ninyo ang gisulti sa Ginoo, kamong mga katawhan sa Israel nga kaliwat ni Jacob. 5Mao kini ang iyang gisulti, “Unsa bay sayop nga nakita sa inyong mga katigulangan kanako nga nagpalayo man gayod sila kanako? Misunod sila sa mga dios-dios nga walay pulos, ug tungod niini nahimo usab silang walay pulos. 6Wala sila mangita kanako bisan pag akoy nagpagawas kanila gikan sa Ehipto ug naggiya kanila sa kamingawan nga walay mga tanom—sa yuta nga disyerto nga may mga bangag, nga kanunayng may hulaw ug delikado, ug walay nagapuyo ni nagaagi. 7Gidala ko kamo sa tabunok nga yuta aron makapahimulos sa maayong abot niini. Apan pag-abot ninyo didto, gipasipalahan ninyo ang yuta nga akong gipanag-iyahan, ug gihimo ninyo kining makalilisang. 8Bisan ang mga pari wala mangita kanako. Ang mga magtutudlo sa balaod wala makaila2:8 wala makaila: o, dili suod. kanako. Ang mga pangulo nagrebelde kanako. Ang mga propeta nagsulti ug mga mensahe sa ngalan ni Baal, ug nagsunod sa mga dios-dios nga walay pulos. 9Busa akusahan ko kamo pag-usab, apil ang inyong umaabot nga mga kaliwat. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.
10“Pangadto kamo sa kasadpan, sa mga isla sa Cyprus, ug pangadto usab kamo sa sidlakan, sa yuta sa Cedar. Susiha ninyo pag-ayo kon may nahitabo bang sama niini: 11May nasod ba nga nagailis sa ilang mga dios, bisan pag dili kini tinuod nga mga dios? Apan ako nga halangdong Dios giilisdan sa akong katawhan sa mga dios nga walay pulos. 12Nakurat ang kalangitan sa ilang gihimo; daw sa nangurog kini sa hilabihang kahadlok. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.
13“Nakahimo ug duha ka sala ang akong katawhan, Gisalikway nila ako, ang tuboran nga nagahatag ug kinabuhi, ug gisimba nila ang ubang mga dios, nga daw pareho lang nga nagkalot silag bangag nga pundohanan ug tubig nga mohubas. 14Ang Israel wala matawo nga ulipon. Nganong gibihag man siya? 15Ang iyang mga kaaway daw liyon nga nagangulob ngadto kaniya. Gilaglag nila ang iyang yuta; gipangguba ang iyang mga lungsod, ug nahimo kining awaaw. 16Dugang niini, gilaglag siya2:16 gilaglag siya: sa Syriac, gibuak ang iyang bagol-bagol. sa mga taga-Memphis ug taga-Tahpanhes.
17“Kamo ra mismong mga Israelinhon ang nagdala niini nga kalaglagan sa inyong kaugalingon. Kay gisalikway ninyo ako, ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios, sa dihang gigiyahan ko kamo sa dalan. 18Karon, unsa may inyong nakuha sa inyong pagdangop sa Ehipto ug sa Asiria? Nganong nangadto pa man kamo sa Suba sa Nilo2:18 Nilo: sa Hebreo, Shihor, nga usa ka sanga sa Suba sa Nilo. ug sa Suba sa Eufrates? 19Tungod sa inyong kadaotan ug pagsalikway kanako, badlongon ug silotan ko kamo. Karon, hunahunaa ninyo pag-ayo kon unsa kadaotan ug kapait alang kaninyo ang pagsalikway ug dili pagtahod sa Ginoo nga inyong Dios. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom, ang nagaingon niini.
20“Kaniadto, sa giulipon pa kamo, daw gibutangan kamog yugo ug gikadenahan. Apan sa dihang giluwas ko kamo, nagdumili kamo sa pag-alagad kanako. Misimba hinuon kamo sa mga dios-dios didto sa matag taas nga mga bungtod ug sa ilalom sa matag labong nga kahoy, nga daw mga babayeng nagbaligya sa ilang dungog. 21Sama kamo sa usa ka maayong klase sa ubas nga akong gitanom. Apan nganong nahimo man kamong daw usa ka ihalas nga ubas nga mamungag dunot ug walay pulos? 22Bisan maligo ug manabon pa kamog maayo makita ko gihapon ang lama sa inyong sala. Ako, ang Ginoong Dios, ang nagaingon niini.
23“Nganong moingon man kamo nga wala kamo mahugawi ug wala kamo magsimba sa mga imahen ni Baal? Tan-awa kon unsa nga mga pagpakasala ang gihimo ninyo didto sa kapatagan sa Hinnom. Hunahunaa ang sala nga inyong nahimo. Sama kamo sa usa ka dumalagang kamelyo nga dili mahimutang sa panahon sa pagpanguwag. 24Sama usab kamo sa usa ka bayeng asno nga naanad sa kamingawan. Kon moabot ang panahon sa pagpanguwag, magpanimhot kini sa hangin ug walay makapugong niini sa pagpangitag laki. Dili na mahago sa pagpangita kaniya ang laking asno. Sayon siyang pangitaon sa panahon sa iyang pagpanguwag.
25“Mga Israelinhon, nagakahilis na ang inyong mga sandalyas, ug nagmala na ang inyong mga tutunlan sa pagsunod-sunod sa ubang mga dios. Apan nagaingon gihapon kamo, ‘Dili mahimong motalikod kami sa ubang mga dios. Gihigugma namo sila ug mosunod kami kanila.’
26“Maingon nga maulawan ang kawatan kon kini madakpan, maulawan usab kamong mga katawhan sa Israel. Oo, maulawan kamo ug ang inyong mga hari, mga opisyal, mga pari ug mga propeta. 27Miingon kamo nga ang kahoy inyong amahan ug ang bato inyong inahan. Mitalikod kamo kanako, apan kon anaa kamo sa kalisod mangayo kamog tabang kanako. 28Hain na ang mga dios nga inyong gihimo alang sa inyong kaugalingon? Paduola sila kon tinuod nga maluwas nila kamo sa inyong kalisod. Pagkadaghan sa inyong mga dios, sama kadaghan sa mga lungsod sa Juda. 29Nganong moreklamo man kamo batok kanako? Dili ba kamo man ang nagrebelde kanako? 30Gisilotan ko ang inyong mga anak, apan wala gihapon sila nagabag-o. Dili sila magpadisiplina. Kamo mismo ang mipatay sa inyong mga propeta, daw sama kamo sa gutom nga liyon nga mipatay sa iyang biktima.
31“Kamong mga katawhan niini nga henerasyon, paminawa kining akong isulti. Sama ba ako sa usa ka disyerto alang kaninyong mga Israelinhon, o kaha sa usa ka dapit nga labihan kangitngit? Nganong moingon man kamo, ‘Gawasnon kaming mohimo sa among gusto. Dili na kami moduol sa Dios.’
32“Malimtan ba sa usa ka putli nga babaye ang iyang alahas o ang iyang bisti nga pangkasal? Apan kamong akong katawhan, nalimot kanako sulod na sa dugayng panahon. 33Maayo gayod kamong mangita ug hinigugma nga mga dios-dios. Bisan ang mga babayeng nagbaligya sa ilang dungog makakat-on pa gikan kaninyo. 34Anaa sa inyong mga bisti ang mantsa sa dugo sa mga inosente ug kabos. Gipamatay ninyo sila bisan ug wala ninyo sila masakpi nga misulod sa inyong balay sa pagpangawat. Apan bisan pa niining tanan ninyong gihimo, 35moingon pa gihapon kamo, ‘Wala kamiy nahimong sala. Busa dili masuko ang Ginoo kanamo.’ Apan silotan ko kamo tungod sa inyong pag-ingon nga wala kamoy sala.
36“Sayon-sayonon ra ninyo ang pag-usab sa inyong hunahuna ug pag-ilis-ilis ug mga kaabin nga mga nasod. Apan pakaulawan kamo pag-ayo sa Ehipto nga inyong gikaabin sama sa pagpakaulaw nga gihimo kaninyo sa Asiria. 37Mobiya kamo sa Ehipto nga nakatabon ang inyong mga kamot sa inyong nawong timaan sa inyong kaulaw. Kay gisalikway ko ang mga nasod nga inyong gisaligan. Dili gayod kamo matabangan niini nga mga nasod.”
1Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.2.2 thee: or, for thy sake 3Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD. 4Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
5¶ Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? 6Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? 7And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.2.7 a plentiful…: or, the land of Carmel 8The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
9¶ Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead. 10For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.2.10 over: or, over to 11Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. 12Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. 13For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
14¶ Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?2.14 spoiled: Heb. become a spoil? 15The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.2.15 yelled: Heb. gave out their voice 16Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.2.16 have…: or, feed on thy crown 17Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way? 18And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? 19Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

29Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD. 30In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
31¶ O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?2.31 We are…: Heb. We have dominion 32Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number. 33Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways. 34Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.2.34 secret…: Heb. digging 35Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned. 36Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria. 37Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
