1Sa ikanapulo nga adlaw sa ikalima nga bulan, sa ikapito nga tuig sa amo nga pagkabihag, may pipila ka mga pangulo sa Israel nga mianhi kanako ug milingkod sa akong atubangan aron sa pagpangayo ug mensahe gikan sa Ginoo. 2Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 3“Tawo, ingna ang mga pangulo sa Israel nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: ‘Mianhi ba kamo aron sa pagpangayo ug mensahe gikan kanako? Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios nga buhi, nanumpa nga dili ko kamo hatagan ug mensahe.’
4“Tawo, hukmi sila. Ipaamgo sila sa mangil-ad nga mga butang nga gihimo sa ilang mga katigulangan. 5Ingna sila nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: ‘Sa dihang gipili ko ang Israel nga mga kaliwat ni Jacob, ug gipaila ko ang akong kaugalingon kanila didto sa Ehipto, nanumpa ako kanila nga nagaingon, “Ako mao ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios.” 6Ug niadtong adlawa usab nanumpa ako nga pagawason ko sila gikan sa Ehipto ug dad-on ngadto sa yuta nga gipili ko alang kanila—usa ka maayo ug mabungahon nga yuta,20:6 maayo… yuta: sa Hebreo, yuta nga nagaagas ang gatas ug dugos. Mao usab sa bersikulo 15. ang labing maayo nga yuta sa tanan. 7Unya miingon ako kanila, “Isalikway na ninyo ang inyong mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios. Ayaw ninyo hugawi ang inyong kaugalingon pinaagi sa pagsimba sa mga dios-dios sa Ehipto, kay ako mao ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios.”
8“ ‘Apan misupak sila kanako, ug wala sila mamati. Wala nila isalikway ang mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios sa Ehipto. Busa miingon ako nga ipatagamtam ko kanila ang akong labihan nga kasuko didto sa Ehipto. 9Apan wala ko kini himoa kay gipanalipdan ko ang akong ngalan aron dili kini panamastamasan sa mga nasod sa palibot sa Israel nga nakahibalo nga nagpadayag ako ngadto sa mga Israelinhon nga pagawason ko sila gikan sa Ehipto. 10Busa gipagawas ko sila gikan sa Ehipto ug gidala sa kamingawan. 11Didto, gihatag ko kanila ang akong mga sugo ug mga lagda nga angay nilang tumanon aron padayon silang mabuhi. 12Gipatuman ko usab kanila ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay ingon nga ilhanan sa amo nga kasabotan. Kini magpahinumdom kanila nga ako, ang Ginoo, nagpili kanila nga mahimo nga akong katawhan.
13“ ‘Apan misupak kanako ang katawhan sa Israel didto sa kamingawan. Wala nila tumana ang akong mga pagtulon-an ug mga lagda. Kon gituman lang unta nila kini, padayon silang mabuhi. Wala gyud nila pakabalaana ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay nga gipatuman ko kanila. Busa miingon ako nga ipatagamtam ko kanila ang akong kasuko aron malaglag sila sa hingpit didto sa kamingawan. 14Apan wala ko kini himoa tungod kay maulawan ang akong ngalan sa mga nasod nga nakahibalo nga gipagawas ko ang mga Israelinhon gikan sa Ehipto. 15Nanumpa usab ako kanila didto sa kamingawan nga dili ko sila dad-on didto sa yuta nga akong gihatag kanila—ang maayo ug mabungahon nga yuta, ang labing maayo nga yuta sa tanan. 16Gipanumpa ko kini kanila tungod kay wala nila tumana ang akong mga pagtulon-an ug mga lagda, ug wala nila pakabalaana ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay nga akong gipatuman kanila. Gipalabi pa nila ang pagsimba sa ilang mga dios-dios.
17“ ‘Apan bisan pa niini nga ilang gihimo, gikaloy-an ko gihapon sila, ug wala ko sila laglaga sa hingpit didto sa kamingawan. 18Giingnan ko ang ilang mga anak didto sa kamingawan, “Ayaw ninyo sunda ang mga tulumanon ug mga lagda sa inyong mga ginikanan, ug ayaw ninyo hugawi ang inyong kaugalingon pinaagi sa pagsimba sa ilang mga dios-dios. 19Ako mao ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios. Tumana ninyo pag-ayo ang akong mga pagtulon-an ug mga lagda. 20Pakabalaana ninyo ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay kay kini ilhanan sa atong kasabotan, ug kini magpahinumdom kaninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios.”
21“ ‘Apan bisan ang mga kabataan misupak usab kanako. Wala nila tumana ang akong mga pagtulon-an ug mga lagda. Kon tumanon lang unta nila kini, padayon unta sila nga mabuhi. Ug wala usab nila pakabalaana ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay nga akong gipatuman kanila. Busa miingon ako nga ipatagamtam ko ang akong labihang kasuko kanila didto sa kamingawan. 22Apan wala ko kini himoa tungod kay maulawan ang akong ngalan sa mga nasod nga nakahibalo nga gipagawas ko ang mga Israelinhon gikan sa Ehipto. 23Apan nanumpa usab ako kanila didto sa kamingawan nga katagon ko sila ngadto sa nagkalain-laing mga nasod, 24tungod kay wala nila tumana ang akong mga pagtulon-an ug mga lagda, ug wala nila pakabalaana ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay nga akong gipatuman kanila. Gipalabi pa hinuon nila ang pagsimba sa mga dios-dios sa ilang mga katigulangan. 25Busa gipasagdan ko sila nga magtuman sa mga tulumanon ug mga lagda nga dili maayo ug dili makahatag kanilag maayo nga kinabuhi. 26Gipasagdan ko usab sila nga hugaw-hugawan nila ang ilang kaugalingon pinaagi sa ilang paghalad sa mga dios-dios apil na ang paghalad nila sa ilang kamagulangang mga anak nga lalaki. Gitugotan ko kini aron malisang sila ug mahibaloan nila nga ako mao ang Ginoo.’
27“Busa tawo, ingna ang katawhan sa Israel nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: Ang inyong mga katigulangan padayong nagpasipala ug nagsalikway kanako. 28Kay sa dihang gidala ko sila sa yuta nga akong gisaad nga ihatag kanila, naghalad silag mga halad, mga insenso, ug mga ilimnon didto sa matag taas nga bungtod ug sa matag labong nga kahoy nga ilang makita. Busa nasuko ako pag-ayo kanila. 29Nangutana ako kanila, ‘Unsa ba kana nga habog nga dapit nga inyong ginaadtoan?’ ” (Hangtod karon Bamah20:29 Bamah: Ang buot ipasabot, habog nga dapit. ang itawag nila nianang lugara.)
30“Karon, ingna ang katawhan sa Israel nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: Hugawan ba usab ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon sama sa gihimo sa inyong mga katigulangan, ug magsimba ba usab kamo sa mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios? 31Bisan gani karon ginahugawan ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon pinaagi sa paghalad sa mga dios-dios apil na ang paghalad ninyo sa inyong mga anak nga lalaki pinaagi sa kalayo. Busa katawhan sa Israel, ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios nga buhi, dili gyud mohatag ug mensahe kaninyo bisan mangayo pa kamo.
32“Dili gyud mahitabo kana nga anaa sa inyong hunahuna nga magpakasama kamo sa mga katawhan sa uban nga nasod nga nagasimba sa dios-dios nga hinimo sa bato ug kahoy. 33Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios nga buhi, nanumpa nga magahari ako kaninyo pinaagi sa akong dakong gahom ug labihan nga kasuko. 34Oo, sa akong dakong gahom ug labihan nga kasuko, kuhaon ko kamo gikan sa nagkalain-laing mga nasod diin kamo nagkatag, 35ug dad-on sa kamingawan sa mga nasod. Ug didto, atubangon ko kamo ug hukman. 36Hukman ko kamo, sama nga gihukman ko ang inyong mga katigulangan didto sa kamingawan sa Ehipto. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini. 37Ilain ko ang mga daotan kaninyo, ug lig-onon ko ang akong kasabotan kaninyo. 38Ibulag ko kaninyo ang mga misupak kanako. Pagawason ko sila gikan sa nasod diin sila nabihag, apan dili sila makasulod sa yuta sa Israel. Unya mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo.”
39Miingon pa gyud ang Ginoo nga Dios sa katawhan sa Israel, “Sige, padayon kamo sa pag-alagad sa inyong mga dios-dios kon dili kamo gustong motuman kanako. Apan moabot ang panahon nga dili na gyud ninyo mapakaulawan ang akong ngalan pinaagi sa paghalad ngadto sa inyong mga dios-dios. 40Kay didto sa akong balaan nga bukid, sa taas nga bukid sa Israel, ang tanang katawhan sa Israel magaalagad kanako. Didto pagadawaton ko kamo ug hangyoon ko kamo nga maghalad sa inyong pinakamaayo nga mga gasa ug nagkalain-lain pa nga mga halad. 41Kon makuha ko na kamo gikan sa mga nasod diin kamo nagkatibulaag, dawaton ko kamo ingon nga mahumot nga halad. Ipakita ko kaninyo ang akong pagkabalaan atubangan sa mga nasod. 42Ug kon madala ko na kamo sa yuta sa Israel nga akong gipanumpa nga ihatag sa inyong mga katigulangan, mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo. 43Ug didto mahinumdoman ninyo ang inyong mga binuhatan nga nakapahugaw kaninyo, ug kasilagan ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon tungod sa tanan ninyong daotan nga mga binuhatan. 44O katawhan sa Israel, mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo sa dihang trataron ko kamo ug maayo tungod ug alang sa akong ngalan luyo sa inyong daotan ug hugaw nga mga binuhatan. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.”
Ang Mensahe sa Dios Batok sa Habagatan sa Juda
45Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 46“Tawo, pag-atubang sa habagatan ug panghimaraota kini nga lugar nga adunay mga kalasangan. 47Isulti niini nga dapita nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang magdaob ug mosunog sa iyang kakahoyan, laya man o buhi. Dili gyud mapalong kini nga nagadilaab nga kalayo. Sunogon niini ang tanan gikan sa habagatan paingon sa amihan. 48Makita sa tanan nga ako, ang Ginoo, mao ang nagdaob niini, ug dili gyud kini mapalong.”
49Unya miingon ako, “O Ginoo nga Dios, ang mga tawo nagaingon nga nagasulti lang ako ug mga sambingay.”
1And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me. 2Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying, 3Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you. 4Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:20.4 Wilt…: or, Wilt thou plead for them
5¶ And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;20.5 lifted…: or, sware 6In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands: 7Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. 8But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. 9But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
10¶ Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. 11And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.20.11 shewed…: Heb. made them to know 12Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. 13But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. 14But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out. 15Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; 16Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. 17Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. 18But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: 19I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. 21Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. 22Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. 23I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; 24Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols. 25Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; 26And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
27¶ Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.20.27 committed…: Heb. trespassed a trespass 28For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings. 29Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.20.29 I said…: or, I told them what the high place was, or, Bamah 30Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations? 31For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you. 32And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
33¶ As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. 37And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:20.37 bond: or, delivering 38And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 39As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. 40For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.20.40 firstfruits: or, chief 41I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.20.41 sweet…: Heb. savour of rest 42And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. 43And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. 44And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
45¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 46Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field; 47And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein. 48And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched. 49Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?
