Ang Awit ni David sa Iyang Kadaogan
(Salmo 18)
1Nagaawit si David ngadto sa Ginoo sa dihang giluwas siya sa Ginoo gikan sa iyang mga kaaway ug kang Saul. 2-3Mao kini ang iyang awit:
“Ikaw, Ginoo, ang akong salipdanan nga bato,
ang akong lig-ong tagoanan ug manluluwas.
Ingon nga salipdanan nga bato, makatago ako kanimo.
Ikaw ang akong taming ug gamhanan nga manluluwas.
Ikaw ang akong dalangpanan ug tagoanan.
Ikaw ang nagaluwas kanako gikan sa bangis nga mga tawo.
4Dalaygon ka, Ginoo, kay kon mangayo ako ug tabang kanimo ginaluwas mo ako gikan sa akong mga kaaway.
5Ang kamatayon daw balod nga mikuso-kuso kanako.
Ang kalaglagan daw sulog sa baha nga mianod kanako.
6Ang kamatayon daw pisi nga milambod kanako ug daw lit-ag nga nagaatang sa akong agianan.
7Sa akong kalisdanan nagpakitabang ako kanimo, Ginoo, nga akong Dios,
ug gidungog mo ang akong pag-ampo didto sa imong templo.
8“Unya milinog, ug ang mga pundasyon sa mga bukid nauyog,
tungod kay nasuko ka, Ginoo.
9Nanggawas ang aso sa imong ilong,
ug sa imong baba nanggawas ang nagadilaab nga kalayo ug mga baga.
10Giablihan mo ang langit,
ug nanaog ka nga nagatungtong sa mabagang dag-om.
11Nagsakay ka sa kerubin, ug tulin kining milupad samtang gipalid sa hangin.
12Gihimo mo ang kangitngit nga mosalipod kanimo.
Nagtago ka sa mabagang dag-om.
13Gikan sa kahayag diha sa imong atubangan, nanggawas ang nagadilaab nga mga baga.
14Ang tingog mo Ginoo, nga Labing Halangdong Dios, nagdahunog gikan sa langit.
15Gipana mo ug kilat ang imong mga kaaway
ug miikyas sila nga nagkatibulaag.
16Sa imong pagngulob ug pagpangusmo sa kasuko mimala ang dagat, ug nakita ang yuta ilalom niini, ug nakita usab ang pundasyon sa kalibotan.
17Gikan sa langit gigunitan mo ako ug gihaw-as gikan sa lawom nga tubig.
18Giluwas mo ako gikan sa akong gamhanang mga kaaway nga naglagot kanako, kay wala akoy dag-anan kanila.
19Gisulong nila ako sa dihang anaa ako sa kalisod,
apan gipanalipdan mo ako, Ginoo.
20Giluwas mo ako sa katalagman kay nalipay ka kanako.
21Gipanalanginan mo ako tungod kay matarong ang akong kinabuhi
ug wala ako magpakasala.
22Kay gisunod ko ang imong mga pamaagi
ug wala ako mobiya kanimo Ginoo, nga akong Dios.
23Gituman ko ang tanan mong sugo
ug wala ko lapasa ang imong mga tulumanon.
24Nahibalo ka nga walay ikasaway sa akong kinabuhi
ug gilikayan ko ang pagpakasala.
25Gigantihan mo ako tungod kay nakita mo nga matarong ang akong kinabuhi
ug wala akoy nahimong sala.
26Matinumanon ka sa mga matinumanon kanimo,
ug maayo ka usab sa mga tawo nga maayo.
27Matinud-anon ka sa mga tawo nga matinud-anon kanimo,
apan makigbatok ka sa mga tawong daotan.
28Oo, ginaluwas mo ang mga mapainubsanon,
apan ginapaubos mo ang mga mapahitas-on.
29“Ginoo, ikaw ang akong kahayag.
Sa kangitngit, ikaw ang akong suga.
30Sa imong tabang sulongon ko ang panon sa mga sundalo
ug mahimo kong katkaton ang paril nga nagalibot sa lungsod.
31Hingpit ang imong pamaagi, O Dios.
Ang imong pulong kasaligan gayod.
Sama ka sa taming alang sa tanang nagadangop kanimo.
32Ikaw lang, Ginoo, ang Dios;
ikaw lang ang among salipdanan nga bato.
33Ikaw ang nagahatag kanako ug kusog22:33 Ikaw… kusog: Mao kini sa Dead Sea Scrolls, sa Latin Vulgate, sa Syriac, ug sa ubang mga kopya sa Septuagint. Sa Hebreo, Ikaw ang akong lig-ong dalangpanan.
ug ang nagabantay sa akong paglakaw.
34Ginalig-on mo ang akong tiil sama sa tiil sa usa,
aron makalatas ako sa habog nga mga dapit.
35Ginabansay mo ako sa pagpakiggira.
Ang akong mga bukton makabinat na sa bronsi nga pana.
36Sama ikaw sa taming nga nagapanalipod kanako,
ug pinaagi sa imong tabang nahimo akong bantogan.
37Gipalapdan mo ang akong agianan,
busa wala ako madakin-as.
38Gigukod ko ang akong mga kaaway ug napildi ko sila.
Ug wala gayod ako mobalik hangtod nga nalaglag ko sila.
39Gilaglag ko sila hangtod nga nangalup-og sila sa akong tiilan ug dili na makabangon pa.
40Gihatagan mo ako ug kusog sa pagpakiggira
ug gipadaog batok sa akong mga kaaway.
41Gipakagiw mo ang akong mga kaaway
ug gilaglag ko sila.
42Nangayo sila ug tabang,
apan walay miluwas kanila.
Nanawag sila kanimo,
apan wala mo sila tubaga.
43Gidugmok ko sila hangtod nahisama na lang sila sa abog.
Gitunob-tunoban ko sila nga daw lapok sa kadalanan.
44Giluwas mo ako gikan sa mga nagarebelde kong katawhan.
Gihimo mo akong pangulo sa mga kanasoran.
Ang mga langyaw nagaalagad kanako.
45Nagayukbo sila kanako,
ug inigkadungog nila bahin kanako, nagatuman sila sa akong mando.
46Nawad-an silag kaisog,
ug nanggawas sa ilang mga tagoanan nga nagakurog sa kahadlok.
47Buhi ka, Ginoo!
Dalaygon ka nga akong salipdanan nga bato!
Gibayaw ko ikaw tungod kay ikaw ang Dios nga akong Manluluwas.
48Gipanimalos mo ako sa akong mga kaaway
ug gipasakop mo kanako ang mga kanasoran.
49Ginaluwas mo ako gikan sa akong mabangis nga mga kaaway,
ug ginapadaog mo ako batok kanila.
50Busa pasidunggan ko ikaw taliwala sa mga kanasoran, O Ginoo.
Ug awitan ko ikaw ug mga pagdayeg.
51Ginahatagan mo ug dagkong mga kadaogan ang imong pinili nga hari.
Gihigugma mo si David ug ang iyang mga kaliwat sa walay kataposan.”
1And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
2And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; 3The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. 4I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 5When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;22.5 waves: or, pangs22.5 ungodly…: Heb. Belial 6The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;22.6 sorrows: or, cords 7In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. 8Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth. 9There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.22.9 out of his nostrils: Heb. by, etc 10He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. 11And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. 12And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.22.12 dark…: Heb. binding of waters 13Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. 14The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. 15And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them. 16And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. 17He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;22.17 many: or, great 18He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. 19They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. 20He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. 21The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. 22For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 23For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. 24I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.22.24 before: Heb. to 25Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.22.25 in…: Heb. before his eyes 26With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. 27With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.22.27 shew thyself unsavoury: or, wrestle 28And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. 29For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.22.29 lamp: or, candle 30For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.22.30 run: or, broken 31As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.22.31 tried: or, refined 32For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? 33God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.22.33 maketh: Heb. riddeth, or, looseth 34He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.22.34 maketh: Heb. equalleth 35He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.22.35 to war: Heb. for the war 36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.22.36 made…: Heb. multiplied me 37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.22.37 feet: Heb. ankles 38I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. 39And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. 40For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.22.40 subdued: Heb. caused to bow 41Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. 42They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. 43Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad. 44Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. 45Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.22.45 Strangers: Heb. Sons of the stranger22.45 submit…: or, yield feigned obedience: Heb. lie 46Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places. 47The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. 48It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,22.48 avengeth: Heb. giveth avengement for 49And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. 50Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. 51He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
