Ang mga Kausaban nga Gihimo ni Hezekia
1Pagkahuman sa pista, nangadto ang mga Israelinhon nga nanambong niini didto sa mga lungsod sa Juda, ug gipangdugmok nila ang handomanan nga mga bato ug gipangputol ang mga poste nga simbolo sa diosa nga si Ashera. Gipangguba nila ang mga simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit sa tibuok Juda, Benjamin, Efraim, ug Manase. Pagkahuman nilag guba sa tanan, namauli sila sa ilang mga lungsod ug yuta.
2Gigrupo-grupo ni Haring Hezekia ang mga pari ug ang mga Levita basi sa tagsa-tagsa nila ka buluhaton—sa paghalad sa mga halad nga sinunog ug mga halad alang sa maayong relasyon, sa pag-alagad sa templo sa Ginoo, sa pagpasalamat, ug sa pag-awit ug mga pagdayeg diha sa mga pultahan sa templo. 3Gihatag ni Haring Hezekia ang pipila sa iyang kaugalingong mga hayop alang sa mga halad nga sinunog nga ginahalad buntag ug gabii, ug alang usab sa mga Adlaw nga Igpapahulay, sa Pista sa Pagsugod sa Bulan, ug sa uban pang mga pista, sumala sa nahisulat sa kasugoan sa Ginoo. 4Gimandoan usab niya ang mga taga-Jerusalem sa paghatag sa bahin sa mga pari ug sa mga Levita, aron ikahatag nila ang ilang tibuok panahon sa pag-alagad sa kasugoan sa Ginoo. 5Sa dihang napahibalo na kini ngadto sa mga tawo, malipayon nga nanghatag ang mga Israelinhon sa unang abot sa ilang trigo, bino, lana, dugos, ug sa uban pang abot sa yuta. Gihatag nila ang ikapulo sa tanan nilang abot. 6Ang mga taga-Israel nga namalhin sa Juda, ug ang mga taga-Juda mismo, nanghatag usab sa ikapulo sa ilang mga baka, karnero ug kanding, ug sa ikapulo sa mga butang nga ilang gigahin ngadto sa Ginoo nga ilang Dios, ug ila kining gitapok. 7Nagsugod sila sa pagtapok niini sa ikatulo nga bulan, ug nahuman sa ikapito ka bulan. 8Sa dihang nakita ni Hezekia ug sa iyang mga opisyal ang dagkong mga tapok, gidayeg nila ang Ginoo ug ang iyang katawhan nga mga Israelinhon.
9Gipangutana ni Haring Hezekia ang mga pari ug ang mga Levita mahitungod sa tinapok nga mga halad. 10Mitubag si Azaria, ang pangulong pari nga kaliwat ni Zadok, “Sukad sa pagsugod ug dala sa mga tawo sa ilang mga halad sa templo sa Ginoo abunda na ang among pagkaon ug daghan pa ang sobra, tungod kay gipanalanginan sa Ginoo ang iyang katawhan.”
11Unya nagmando si Haring Hezekia nga maghimo ug mga bodega sa templo sa Ginoo, ug natuman kini. 12Ug matinumanon nga gidala didto sa mga tawo ang ilang mga halad, mga ikapulo, ug ang mga butang nga gigahin nila ngadto sa Ginoo. Gipili sila ni Haring Hezekia ug ni Azaria nga pangulong opisyal sa templo sa Dios.
14Si Kore nga anak ni Imna nga Levita, nga guwardya sa sidlakan nga pultahan sa templo, mao ang gitugyanan sa kinabubut-on nga mga halad ngadto sa Dios, ug sa mga butang nga gigahin ngadto sa Ginoo, ug sa pag-apod-apod niini. 15Ang iyang matinumanon nga mga katabang mao sila si Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaya, Amaria, ug Shecania. Giapod-apod nila ang mga halad ngadto sa mga pari sumala sa ilang grupo ug katungdanan, bata man sila o tigulang. 16Gipanghatagan usab nila ang mga kalalakin-an nga nagaedad ug tulo ka tuig pataas ug nalista sa listahan sa mga kaliwat, nga nagaadto sa templo sa paghimo sa ilang adlaw-adlaw nga buluhaton sumala sa ilang grupo ug katungdanan. 17Gipanghatagan usab nila sa ilang bahin ang mga pari nga nalista sa listahan sa mga kaliwat, ug ang mga Levita nga nagaedad ug 20 ka tuig pataas nga nalista sumala sa ilang grupo ug katungdanan. 18Gipanghatagan usab ang mga pamilya sa mga Levita—ang ilang mga asawa, mga anak, apil ang ilang gagmayng mga kabataan, nga nalista sa listahan sa mga kaliwat kay nagmatinumanon man sila sa paghinlo sa ilang kaugalingon. 19Ug alang usab sa mga pari nga kaliwat ni Aaron nga nagpuyo sa mga uma sa palibot nga mga lungsod, may mga tawo nga gitugyanan sa pag-apod-apod sa ilang bahin ug sa bahin sa tanang Levita nga nalista sa listahan sa ilang kaliwat.
20Mao kini ang gihimo ni Haring Hezekia sa tibuok Juda. 1When all this had ended, the Israelites who were there went out to the towns of Judah, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. They destroyed the high places and the altars throughout Judah and Benjamin and in Ephraim and Manasseh. After they had destroyed all of them, the Israelites returned to their own towns and to their own property.
Contributions for worship
2Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions – each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites – to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the Lord’s dwelling. 3The king contributed from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals as written in the Law of the Lord. 4He ordered the people living in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and Levites so that they could devote themselves to the Law of the Lord. 5As soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of their grain, new wine, olive oil and honey and all that the fields produced. They brought a great amount, a tithe of everything. 6The people of Israel and Judah who lived in the towns of Judah also brought a tithe of their herds and flocks and a tithe of the holy things dedicated to the Lord their God, and they piled them in heaps. 7They began doing this in the third month and finished in the seventh month. 8When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw the heaps, they praised the Lord and blessed his people Israel.
9Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about the heaps; 10and Azariah the chief priest, from the family of Zadok, answered, ‘Since the people began to bring their contributions to the temple of the Lord, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare, because the Lord has blessed his people, and this great amount is left over.’
11Hezekiah gave orders to prepare storerooms in the temple of the Lord, and this was done. 12Then they faithfully brought in the contributions, tithes and dedicated gifts. Konaniah, a Levite, was the overseer in charge of these things, and his brother Shimei was next in rank. 13Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismakiah, Mahath and Benaiah were assistants of Konaniah and Shimei his brother. All these served by appointment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the official in charge of the temple of God.
14Kore son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the East Gate, was in charge of the freewill offerings given to God, distributing the contributions made to the Lord and also the consecrated gifts. 15Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah and Shekaniah assisted him faithfully in the towns of the priests, distributing to their fellow priests according to their divisions, old and young alike.
16In addition, they distributed to the males three years old or more whose names were in the genealogical records – all who would enter the temple of the Lord to perform the daily duties of their various tasks, according to their responsibilities and their divisions. 17And they distributed to the priests enrolled by their families in the genealogical records and likewise to the Levites twenty years old or more, according to their responsibilities and their divisions. 18They included all the little ones, the wives, and the sons and daughters of the whole community listed in these genealogical records. For they were faithful in consecrating themselves.
19As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who lived on the farmlands around their towns or in any other towns, men were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among them and to all who were recorded in the genealogies of the Levites.
20This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. 21In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.
