How to get started

When you decide to hold a Community Bible Experience, we'll walk you through each step of the journey, from signup to campaign completion…

Point 1

Your journey begins when you sign up for an 8-week New Testament reading campaign. (Coming soon, we'll also offer three Old Testament campaigns; but we recommend starting with the New Testament.)

When you sign up, you'll be asked to choose a campaign date. You can hold your Community Bible Experience any time of year, or you can choose one of four official campaign dates:

  • September 25 — November 20, 2011
  • January 8 — March 4, 2012
  • April 8 (Easter) — June 3, 2012
  • September 9 — November 4, 2012

Whatever dates you choose, plan on reading five days a week (Monday — Friday) for eight weeks. Remember, you can always change your campaign date after you sign up.

Point 1

Get ready for your campaign.

Once you've signed up, we'll email a link to download your Digital Starter Kit with everything you need to recruit participants and plan your reading campaign.

Point 1

Order your Bibles.

To order The Books of the Bible: New Testament for your group, visit BiblicaDirect.com/CommBibleExp.

Each copy is just $5. When you order in bulk, we'll offer return privileges so you can send back any unused copies after your campaign — no questions asked. Bulk orders also include a set of bookmarks featuring the New Testament reading plan.

  • Ebook MP3 audio download, $5
Includes the Community Bible Experience reading plan.
(Note: Kindle and Nook versions are available from Zondervan at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com, respectively.)
  • Ebook eBook edition, $5
The complete NIV® New Testament, read by Max McLean and divided into 39 tracks — one for each day of the reading campaign.
  • Ebook Children's audio adaptation, $5
Created especially for kids ages 6 and up, this audio download features one 10-minute episode for each day of the reading campaign — ideal for parents and children to listen together.
Point 1

Start reading.

Distribute copies of The Books of the Bible as soon as they arrive. That way, participants have a chance to get familiar with it before the campaign starts.

Plan to read Monday — Friday and meet once a week for the duration of your campaign.
