How it works

Engaging Scripture shouldn't be rocket science. So we've designed Community Bible Experience to be as simple as possible.

It begins with a different kind of Bible — one that strips away centuries of formatting so you can read the whole story from start to finish.

But it's also a different approach to the Bible — one that consists of a few simple steps.

Point 1

Get together.

Gather your church, small group, or a few friends — and commit to reading the entire New Testament in eight weeks.

When you sign up, we'll provide a Digital Resource Kit with everything you need to prepare for the experience. When you're ready, you'll order your copies of The Books of the Bible at BiblicaDirect.com/CommBibleExp.

Point 1

Read big.

For eight weeks, you'll read a completely different kind of Bible. You'll read whole books of Scripture — not just bits and pieces. You'll read five days a week, Monday through Friday. (The average reading takes around 45 minutes to complete.)

By the end of your Community Bible Experience, you'll have read every word of the New Testament.

Point 1

Discuss.

Each week, you'll need to meet in small groups to discuss what you're reading. These gatherings are designed to feel more like a book club than a traditional Bible study. They're an opportunity to share how the story is impacting each person — what inspires, surprises, challenges, or puzzles you.

There's no homework — other than keeping up with each day's reading. And no advance preparation is needed.

Point 1

Repeat.

Once you've read through the New Testament, why not complete your journey through Scripture? In 2012, we'll begin offering three Old Testament reading campaigns. Learn more about available campaigns.
